In the past, Celerou starts to process the death of everyone he once knew. Goku and Vegeta try to one-up each other to prove who's best fit to train him, prompting Gohan to intervene. In the present, Jaune ventures to Beacon Academy.
Celerou stared at the ground as he drowned out the two bickering before him. All he cared about was the necklace in his hands. The metal ajisa tree that his father had forged and mined for. Father. He didn't have a father anymore. His father was dead. His mother was dead. The only two people who cared for him were dead. Killed by... Frieza. Frieza. Frieza. Frieza. "Where is he? Frieza." He asked no one in particular. "He's dead. Dad killed him a long time ago," The man in a gi similar to the man in front of him. "He... He killed Frieza?" Celerou looked at the spiky-haired man cartoonishly arguing with the shorter spiky-haired man. "He may not look like it! But Dad's super-duper strong! So is Gohan!" The mini-replica of the one in front of him said. "Goten, how about' you go train with Trunks? He seems like he was roaring for a spar." Gohan told Goten causing the latter to leap in the air with a yay and sprint off.
"But... he looks dumb."
The man in the dark blue sleeveless tank top overheard him, making him laugh. "Look at that Kakarot! He hasn't even talked to you and already knows you're a clown!" He said between laughs. Kakarot groaned as he took a shot at the other. "Hey! At least I wasn't confused as Bulma's assistant by the little guy!" They immediately resumed their arguing. Celerou looked at the last remaining people of his race, these... these were the two who could beat Frieza with a flick? He'd apparently said it out loud because Gohan chuckled next to him, "Absolutely. Hell, every guy here can beat Frieza! Well, maybe not Hercule."
"Frieza's made the Saiyans more blood-hungry, which means more daily missions. It makes my mission harder. But, I promise you Celerou, we'll have a happy life. Away from the blood, away from the war. I- no, we promise you that, even if it kills us."
Celerou looked at the necklace, the last remnants of his father and mother. Tears leaked down his cheeks but he wiped them off. He missed them. The impromptu firework show his mother made with exploding ki balls. The meat stew his father made them. The songs they sang with his father's guitar. The little light show his dad would do to put him to bed. He missed all of it. But he'd never get to experience it again because they were dead.
The tears came faster before he could wipe them off.
A hand was placed on his shoulder causing him to look up. Gohan looked at him with a small smile. "Hey, I know things are tough now... and I can't say they'll get any better soon. I know Remnant isn't Planet Vegeta, and I know Uncle Noah and Aunt Luna aren't your Mom and Dad. But, Remnant has tons of people who could teach you a bunch of things! And Uncle Noah and Aunt Luna are the best you can ask for!" Gohan said with an encouraging voice, "Say, how bout we go get some Ice Cream? That oughta cheer you up right?"
Celerou didn't know what 'Ice Cream' was, but the man in front of him exuded comfort and hospitality, like his father. And besides, he'd rather be somewhere else other than here. 'Here' being Kakarot and Vegeta still arguing. He nodded at Gohan as they got up and were just about to take off. "Oi! Where do you think you're taking him?!" Vegeta shouted at Gohan as they were about to go. "He should immediately begin training! 500 Laps around Capsule Corp!" Vegeta shouted. "Hey! No fair I wanna train him! C'mon little dude! Let's go grab some food and then get to training!" Goku told Celerou with a smile.
"Why'd he want to train with you, you clown?! He should be trained like a Saiyan! Not Human! He should be training with The Prince of All Saiyans! Any Saiyan would be honored and accepted within a heartbeat!" Vegeta claimed. "No way! He should be trained like I was! He was even trained by Master Roshi! So he's already got the basic down!"
