A/N: You know, taking care of a kid is hard...
Yoko had been pretty sure Enid was an over packer, now she was positive.
"Enid, its not even the whole night because 'I wanna spend her first night little with her', you don't need two backpacks full of stuff!"
"Yes I do! Three extra dippers, her Paci, a bunch of clothes, some food, a-"
"I'm only taking one bag, she doesn't need bed sheets."
"You are taking both bags or you don't get to babysit her."
The vampire huffed, taking the bags and throwing them over her shoulder. She was handed Wednesday, and propped her against her more free hip. "Okay, I'm gonna go before we end up with another bag, and Enid...don't worry. Devi is great with kids."
"The fact that you avoided your name is not re-assuring!"
Yoko was already out the door. Wednesday was plotting on how to ruin said day as much as she could and get back to Enid. She didn't need babysitters.
Divina was already in Yoko's room, her legs propped up on a chair as she sorted through...boxes of child things? "Devi really wants a kid," Yoko whispered to the girl just quiet enough that her partner wouldn't hear. "We are already looking into IVF, but we don't know if it will work. Try and be nice please."
"Hey Yoko, Wednesday," they stood up and came over, holding their arms out to take Wednesday from her girlfriend. Yoko passed her over, placing the bags with the rest of the stuff. Divina didn't just want a kid, she also liked collecting childish stuff, toys, clothes and other stuff that would be useful. A lot of the time she would go to the thrift store just for stuff to add to her collection.
"What do you wanna do first? I have lots of toys!" Wednesday pointed to something on top of the pile. "You want the blocks?" [BabyToLove Baby Discovery, Sensory Learning Cubes (12 Pieces)]
"Dah!" No. They were coloured.
Divina put a sensory play mat on the floor, placing the blocks down on it. Wednesday quickly built a tower, managing to stack them four blocks tall before pointing at Divina. "All come tumble downnnn."
"They do? Are you gonna knock them down?"
"Nuh uh, youuuu!"
"I knock them down?!"
"Dah!"
Divina reached out and pushed down the lowest block, sending them all to the floor. Wednesday laughed and picked one up, throwing it with surprising strength across the room. "Boom! Bomb."
"Oh...uh..."
Yoko held back a laugh as she watched Wednesday's actual child self shine through. "Mama pack dayyyger?" she asked, half crawling half walking up. Yoko opened the bag that Enid had put the toys in, finding a plastic dagger at the top. That was definitely an interesting choice of things to buy for a child.
"Fank you!" Wednesday took it in her fist and fully stood up, waddling back to Divina, who laughed and held out her arms as if the girl would actually stab her.
The two played for a while as Yoko observed, watching as Wednesday slipped more and more into her teen space, than dropped suddenly again. It looked quite tiring actually, as it must take a lot of work to try and come out again.
"Devi! I hungryyy!"
"Did Enid pack food?" they asked turning to the bags.
"Yup, blue bag, its in a lunch box."
Divina pulled out the lunch box, laying it on her lap. The inside had a few things, a little container of veggies, a small slice of chocolate cake, some cheese and crakers, a juice box and a container of fruit. "What do you want?"
"Cake!"
"How about some veggies first?"
"Nuh uh."
"Yesss."
"I wefuse to eat does couwerfull foods." And there went the headspace. "Finawy!" She sat down, sighing. "I thoughs I would never be front!"
"Hm," Divina clicked her tongue. "I don't think Enid would be very happy with me."
"Do I look like I gwive a cwap? Give me da cake!"
"Its sweet. You don't tend to like sweet."
"Its chocolate, Enid packs cuz I like."
Divina opened the veggies and pulled out some purple cabbage that was tucked into the corner. "Here."
Satisfied with the colour, Wednesday reached out with her small fist and took it, attempting to bring it to her mouth. She didn't miss that bad... Divina moved Wednesday's hand, letting her get the leaf in properly.
"Mmf."
After she was finished chewing she reached out and gripped the cake before Divina could stop her. Pealing open the top she dove her fist in and tightened her grip while smashing it into her face.
"You could have just asked..." Yoko said as she watched the cake fall from her face into her lap. She smeared her hand on her dress and reached for another handful.
"Nope," Divina pulled the container away, knowing Wednesday was just doing this to piss them off.
"Give me da sweet tourtures."
"Not unless I feed it to you."
"NO!"
"Come on," Divina picked up a spoon tucked in the corner and scooped up some of the cake. "Airplane!" She imitated an engin, attempting to get Wednesday to eat it.
A sudden knock made Divina almost drop the cake, just placing it back down and handing the spoon to Wednesday to feed herself.
Yoko was already at the door, unlocking it and throwing it open. "Hey," Ajax smiled, waving.
"Hey Ajax, hey Sam," she smiled at his girlfriend, who waved shyly, as she didn't hang out with them much.
Ajax and Enid had broken up a few mothers ago, and him and Sam had met shortly after. They had only been dating for about a month, but it was clear they were a good match.
"Come on in!" Divina said. Wednesday was now on her lap as she fed herself, spoon wildly missing her mouth.
The two took off their shoes and jackets, sitting down next to Divina. "Hewo."
"Hey Wednesday!" Ajax grinned. "You want some...uh...help?"
"I'm fin."
"Okay, um, how old are you?"
"Sixtween."
"Her body is somewhere around two."
Wednesday gave a huff and went in for another scoop of cake.
"We invited Bianca and Eugene, but he said he was busy with the bee's and Bianca had homework," Ajax said, taking the cheese and crackers out of the lunch box and attempting to give them to Wednesday instead.
Just to rub it in Divina's face, Wednesday put down the cake and took the food from him, making a little cheese and cracker sandwich.
The rest of the evening was rather uneventful now that Wednesday was in her teen mindset. They mostly talked and ate. By the end, all the food Enid had packed was gone.
"And than she literally-" Sam was cut off by a sharp knock at the door.
"'Nid?" Wednesday pushed herself onto her feet and waddled to the door as fast as she could, almost tripping on the way. "'NID!"
Yoko opened the door. The colourful girl was on the other side, grinning even as Wednesday tackled her legs. Enid scooped Wednesday into her arms, kissing her cheek. "Wook, we talk."
Everyone gave a small wave. "Did you guys eat all the food?"
Ajax hid the last cracker behind his back. "No."
"Dey did."
"You ate all the cake," Sam laughed.
"Ah whatever," Enid laughed. "Let's get ready for bed," she said, picking Wednesday up.
"Bye!"
Everyone waved, and Enid started on her way back to their room.
