~ Author's Note ~

To avoid any confusion before I begin this chapter, the Prologue actually took place after present time in the story- that's why in italics I explained the time of it. Sorry if the timeline is confusing for you, but this chapter and the following take place before that. It will probably be pretty clear to you when we're at the part in the story when we reach that part. Thanks for understanding. It was just a creative writing thing ✨ that I wanted to do.

I think I'll try for at least (slightly) longer chapters for this one than my other fan fictions, readers who hate my short chapter thing. I just have a focus issue in which I start to get slight bored about 1000 words, but I have a feeling it might be different for this book.

Victoria's Perspective

Click. Clatter. Chatter. Clang. Clink. This is what I hear as I sit on the couch in the club, a glass of alcohol in my hand, staring ahead, eyes unfocused. There are so many people here tonight... It's strange. There's no special guest singer or dancer, so what is this?

I take out my phone to see a text from my boyfriend right after it buzzes in the pocket of my yellow sundress.

Yes, I'm wearing a yellow sundress with daisies printed on it to the club.

I'm also going out with no friends, so it kind of lines up.

A little bit.

I shove my phone back in my pocket, not caring to answer my pocket. In fact, I turn the vibration on it off. I don't really care to know what he's going to be asking me to do for him. I'd rather be here, getting drunk out of my f***ing mind.

'Babe', Luis? I'm not your f***ing 'babe'.

Blah, blah, blah.

It's so f***ing loud in here!

Now as I stare at the floor more, I see that there are a few people in the middle, and all eyes are on them. I squint, trying to get a better look of them, and pull myself up off the couch, stumbling forward a bit, right into the arms of-

somebody...?

???

"Who're you?" a drunk voice laughs, and I stumble away from him, pointing to the centre of the floor, saying, "Who's... that guy?"

This guy laughs, saying, his words slurring into each other, "That's my friend, Pedri. Look at all the girls with him! You were annoyin' me... because..." He belches, and we both break out laughing at this.

Suddenly, there's some other guy. He has blond hair, light eyebrows and eyes, and a clean-shaven face. He grabs this other guy, who, as I look at him, has darker brown hair, eyebrows and eyes of a matching color, and is wearing a red sweatshirt. This makes me smile. I feel better now about my unimpressive yellow sundress. The first, brown-haired guy, grins, saying a little too loud, "Hey, what're you doing, Frenkie?"

"Trying to leave," says 'Frenkie'. "But you and Pedri are making it hard. We're not in VIP zone anymore, dude, we've got to go."

"VIP zone?!" I ask, my eyes widening at these words. "What, are you guys a buncha models or something?!"
