OAKLEY:;
Her presence... the harshness of it...
"How long is your house from here?" She questioned as we walked side by side, to my house.
My sight stayed focus on my beat up sneakers, searching for everything wrong about the white airforces.
I did this to distract myself from the girl that most likely ended years long of friendships between me and my only friends.
"It's just down the road" I quickly muttered.
She hummed in response staying silent for the rest of the walk.
When I knew we were close my head turned upwards as my brown eyes landed on the small house.
I inhaled a long breath as I walked up my pathway not even checking to see if she was following me.
I heard the click of her black heels, that was enough assurance.
As we made it to my door, I searched my jacket pocket searching for the small key.
I felt the cold metal on the tips of my fingers and as I reached to pull it out, my shaky hands dropped it.
I cursed as i watched it fall in between the cracks of the wooden patio.
I sat in silence for a few seconds. Staring at the black hole, that sucked my house key, my only house key.
My eyes slowly looked up to see the girl already staring at me smiling.
Her eyebrows raised as I took yet another deep breath. We sat in silence for a minute before she broke out into a small laughter.
"How'd you manage to do that?" Her sharp voice pointed, In a playful manor.
I chuckled as my hand reached to play with my small curls that happened to be out.
"..sorry" I stated, again looking away from her.
She reached for my hand that pulled on my short curls bringing it downwards making my attention turn to her face.
"You have another key?" She questioned, still holding on to my right hand.
Our body's turnt to one another as we stayed a few meters apart. Yet we felt so so close.
I shook my head, afraid that if I opened my mouth, I would say something I didn't mean to.
She nodded looking around carefully.
"Well... your not getting that key back. Backdoor?"
"Locked.."
"Windows?"
My eyebrows scrunched together looking at my living room window that was right beside the front door. I knew for sure that window was unopenable due to my scum of a landlord. When I first moved in a couple months ago he told me everything was in perfect condition, it wasn't. nothing was. Everything was trashy. What did I expect? I payed little money, in the part of town I grew up in, which was quiet crappy. The bedroom window though... it was small but we could manage.
