"He's not going to let me inside," George said with a grimace as he stared at their home from the driveway.

"He will," Dream argued. "He knows how sick it's been making me to lose you. He'll forgive you and we'll fix our situation and things will only get better."

George turned his grimace toward Dream. "He never came around to the idea of me being a vampire and then he caught me crying over you because I thought I killed you. He doesn't trust me and I haven't given him any reason to."

"Then just compel him."

George's eyes widened and he stepped back from Dream in shock. He didn't take that suggestion lightly.

"What are you talking about, Dream? That's a complete violation of his free will and that's a mistake that'll make me lose his trust forever if he finds out."

"You're a vampire, George. What's the point of it all if you can't use what you've been given?"

"He's my friend," George declared, his eyebrows pinching together in anger. "I won't abuse my power over him. Ever."

A smile washed gently over Dream's face as he stared down at George. No matter how indifferent George acted in front of people or how much he pushed when people pulled, he couldn't hide his soft side. Not even as a blood sucking predator. George cared about a lot of things and about a lot of people. No amount of mistakes would ever change Dream's mind about that, because for many years, they were friends too.

Dream understood George's good heart just like Sapnap did, he had no doubt about it.

"See?" Dream shrugged. "He'll take you back exactly for that reason. You guys are like brothers. He can't stay mad at you forever."

"How do you know?" George asked, watching as Dream confidently walked up to the front door.

"Because I won't let him," Dream declared as he stuck his keys in the door and swung it open.

Dream and George stepped into the house and George could already hear Sapnap in the kitchen. He was putting some leftovers in a bowl and talking to Patches about how he couldn't share with her because it'd make her sick. George stepped into the kitchen in front of Dream and held his breath as he waited for Sapnap to turn around and spot him.

When he did, Sapnap stood frozen and wide eyed as he looked George over. A tense moment of silence hung between them as George anticipated his inevitable outrage.

"Finally!" Sapnap hollered, gathering the bowl of leftovers, a bag of chips, and two cans of pop in his arms. "Dream has been driving me crazy with you gone! He's like a freaking madman turning over rocks looking for you!"

George was taken aback but the very nonchalant reaction that felt so familiar and surprisingly friendly. He looked over his shoulder at Dream, who simply smiled at him like he knew this would happen, and then turned back to Sapnap.

"So... are we good?" George awkwardly muttered.

Sapnap shrugged and slipped passed them with his arms full. "Sure, I don't care anymore. Just keep those fangs away from me and we're fine."

George huffed a laugh, feeling his shoulders drop as the tension in his body melted away. Dream wrapped an arm around his chest and pulled him flush against his front, nuzzling his face into the crook of George's neck.

"Those fangs are just for me now. Don't worry, Sapnap," Dream teased.

George's face flushed with embarrassment as he followed Sapnap with a cautious gaze to gage his reaction. Sapnap only scoffed, shook his head, and started toward the stairs.
