She loved rain.

Comforting cold of it that touches the skin. Soaks the clothes to every little thread. Heavy sounds that tickle ears like a child's giggles. All the secrets it tells when it pours from the sky.

All the pain it washes off her.

She loved rain.

Just not the one that deceived with a mask so peaceful, disguised as comforting sounds of nature, only to pour onto the body as poisonous drops of silver liquid.

Abruptly her eyes snapped open, reviling color full of dark honey, sweet and sour at the same time, that pulls you closer and leaves you wondering if it's reasonable to move so close to the person. Color of sunlight through the bottle of whiskey met the ground that started to swallow every drop as if it became a dessert over the years. She would smile to feel it, smell early rain, but all she could feel was pain.

Legs tangled in bushes, burning from the previous effort, kept her in place as the poisonous drops from the sky started to burn small holes into her clothes. It wasn't much at first but when one of them dropped onto the outside of her palm, the feeling of boiling touch and small sound of sizzle reached her ears, body moved on its own.

With a hiss, she lifted herself on her arms and twisted her palm outside down, brushing her hurting palm into the ground to wipe out the poisonous water. The bushes around her legs prevent her from standing up when she was done, allowing her to only sat on the ground and move her eyes to her body.

"Wha-" Hoarse whisper pushed thru the gust of wind, filling empty woods around her, false feeling of company moving thru her body only to broke before she even manage to say fully one word.

Trembling hands reached the plants in order to pull them away from the body, only to stop in the air, her eyes widening at the sight. Knuckles with blood and dirt, brushes and torn skin and minor cuts on long fingers, both palms quivering in the air like they belonged to some addict on detoxification.

Dark honey hid under the wall of transparent liquid that filled her eyes, a wave of pain filled her whole body like a punch mixing with the disorientation and confusion that overcame her mind.

Another drop of poison fell from the sky straight onto the cut on her forearm, filling the wound like medicine, only to start boiling the blood and flesh from the inside. With a screech, she moved her other hand and started to rub the wound to ease the pain, which worked for a mere second as more and more drops started to cover her body.

Hisses mixed with faint sobs started to leave her body. The girl tried to focus on freeing her legs from the plants and ignore the pain from the poisonous rain.

When she became free her body moved automatically, however, as soon as she lifted herself on her legs they started to tremble and soon after that the knees meet the ground. Having no other option, she started to crawl to the first tree in front of her, seeking for even a mere idea of shelter. With, a moment of grunting and adjusting, her back glued to the tree and her knees moved close to her chest with the help of still trembling hands.
