{Chase's POV}
We left the mall not long after seeing Briar and her friends, we were on our way out anyway. I proposed the idea of walking out the way we did because I wanted to check out a store, but that wasn't the case. Allison and Flynn didn't know this but I smelt Briar and that's how I realized she was there.
Unfortunately, there's still a part of me that knows waiting to tell Briar is the right thing to do, but there's also this large part of me that wants to say "fuck it" and tell her so I can finally have her as my own. That wouldn't be fair to her though and I refuse to ruin her experience of finding out on her own.
Zoning out the whole ride home, I got in and made my way to my room. Turning my light on, I grabbed my guitar that was off to the side by my door. Sitting on my windowsill, I played around with some chords-some of them are mine and some of them are from other songs.
"So you're meeting up with the Lupa Alba, huh?" Allison Questioned jumping on my bed. "how did you manage to score that?"
Answering both of her questions, I roll my eyes, "She has a name and yes, later. And I don't know." Careful to avoid the topic of Briar being my mate. "Why do you care?" I asked as I continued to fidget with my guitar.
"Frankly, I don't care if she has a name or not." I lowly growled in anger. "I'm surprised at how much power radiated off of her, I expected power but not that much," I smirked, "That aside...I'm just curious. I care about you, ya know."
Making hurling noises in response, I heard her scoff and saw her scrunch up her face when I looked over my shoulder. "Careful, honey." She turned her nose up and walked out of my room. laughing, I heard my name being called from downstairs.
"I'm upstairs, Levi!" I responded to my 5 year-old brother.
Hearing the patting of his feet get louder the closer he got, he reached my room painting. "Can you...take me for...a run today?" He said between breaths, leaning on the door frame.
Giggling I asked him, "Levi, why were you running bud?" I turned to face him as I put my Guitar down.
"I had to talk to you!" He proclaimed throwing his hands up in despair.
"Buddy...you were down the hall..." I smiled at him.
"I-I thought that if I walked...you would've been gone before I could come see you..." He sighed, dropping his head.
I looked out the window. The sun hadn't set yet so I figured why not take him.
"Sure, Levi. You'll keep an eye out for Hunters right?" Perking up, he nodded rapidly. "Good but I can't run for long. I have somewhere to be."
"Promise you'll be home tonight?" He questioned.
"Levi," I shrunk down to his level, "I promise I'll be home tonight." I placed my hand over my heart showing that I meant it. "I'll even come in your room and leave you a note, okay?"
Nodding he jumps up and gives me a big hug, I hugged him back. I grabbed a pair of sweats from my dresser and quickly changed before going downstairs. I walked down to the front door. Motioning Levi to walk outside with me, I shift when I reach the bottom of the steps. I laid down on the ground and showed him my eyes, not Koda's. Though Koda would never hurt him, Levi is just scared of him. He finally climbed on my back and I carefully stood up. Speaking to him through mind link, he can't respond of course, I ask him if he's ready.
"Password?" He asks. That's how he knows it's me speaking and not Koda.
-Strawberries.- Nodding, he takes a clump of my fur and holds on tight, while I sprinted off towards the woods.
