"Wait a minute, let me finish
I know you don't care
But can you listen?
I came committed, guess I overdid it
Wore my heart out on a chain
Around my neck, but now it's missing, hmm"

She was leaving, this much was known to Dina from the start, she didn't realize how soon it would be, she begged, pleaded with Ellie to not leave. In fact, she was pleading for Ellie to not leave her alone.
Just seconds before this, they were in a small argument, then Dina brought up Joel, and the light in Ellie's eyes changed. Dina could see the glint in Ellie's eye fade. Then Ellie realized.

"So I think I better go
I never really know how to please you
You're lookin' at me like I'm see-through
I guess I'm gonna go
I just never know how you feel
Do you even feel anything?"

Ellie was screaming, pleading for Abby not to kill him, she was being held on the ground, waiting for the moment the golf club would hit him, and it happened.
CLANG.
CLANG.
CLANG.
And Ellie screamed, the first time in a while of her being vulnerable to Joel, first time in a while of her feeling like she was helpless, like she was unable to protect herself and her only father figure she had left.
She knew how life would carry out from there, she knew that life would be miserable without him. She knew him as the only father figure in her life, and though she was trying to heal, Dina bringing him up wasn't necessary, in fact, too soon. So she left, slammed the door and left.

"You said, "Don't treat me badly"
But you said it so sadly
So I did the best I could
Not thinking you would have left me gladly"

Dina sat in a corner looking at JJ, JJ in his makeshift crib smiling and giggling at the little toy hanging from above that kept him entertained. Dina wasn't prepared for anything after this, she didn't know Ellie would have left her so gladly. She just sat there and was sulking to herself, she didn't know what she had to feel, what she wanted to feel, and she didn't know that after all this time, Ellie was still so hurt. She felt so bad, she felt so horrible.

"I know you're not sorry
Why should you be?
'Cause who am I to be in love
When your love never is for me?
Me"

Ellie thought Dina wasn't sorry, she thought that as she cracked somebody's neck, she was crying as she did, the person looked like Abby, but wasn't her, she needed to kill her and all of her friends, no matter the person, no matter the background, she needed them gone.
Then she thought of Dina.
She thought of what Dina would think about her killing so many people in the name of her dead "dad" of sorts. Thought about how she would freak out on Ellie and cry at her, cry because of how much pain Ellie probably put those innocent people through.
'Too bad', she thought to herself.
She knew Dina probably wouldn't wait for her anyways.

"So I think I better go
I never really know how to please you
You're lookin' at me like I'm see-through"

Ellie came back home, face bloodied, clothes ripped and askew, two fingers missing as well. Dina ran to the door, then looked at her in horror. Dina clasped her hands over her mouth and cried out loud, Ellie just stood there and watched Dina stare at her in horror, pure shock, nothing but fear of what Ellie had done on her face. She didn't know how to react, and Ellie was just standing there.
She finally moved and shut the door from behind her, looking at Dina, then looking at the ground.

"I guess I'm gonna go
I just never know how you feel
Do you even feel anything?"

Dina looked at her again.
"What have you done, Ellie?"
