The team arrives at the center of the city, where Darkseid is standing.
Darkseid: (smirking) I see you've brought your little friend with you, Batman. But it won't make a difference. With the Infinity Gauntlet, I am all-powerful.
Batman: (determined) We'll see about that.
Darkseid: (using the Gauntlet) Fear me!(everyone who is afraid of the darkside freezes)
Everyone except Batman freezes in terror.
Batman: (resisting the Gauntlet's power) I'm not afraid of you, Darkseid. You don't scare me.
Darkseid: (surprised) What? How is this possible?
Batman: (using his heart's strength) I draw my strength from something more powerful than fear. Love.
Darkseid: (enraged) You dare defy me? I'll destroy you!
CUT TO:
A massive battle ensues between Batman and Darkseid. Darkseid starts off with the upper hand, easily knocking Batman around.
Batman: (struggling) I can't keep this up forever.
Darkseid: (mocking) Give up, Batman. You can never win against the power of the Infinity Gauntlet.
(a kind of magic blue light appears in the sky that comes from every living thing on earth)
But then, something inside Batman changes. He feels a surge of energy, as if the strength of every person on Earth is flowing through him.
Batman: (realizing) I understand now. I'm not alone. I have the power of everyone on Earth behind me.
With renewed strength, Batman fights back with everything he has. The battle is intense, with Darkseid launching massive energy blasts and Batman dodging and striking back with incredible speed.
The two combatants clash in a fierce battle that shakes the very foundations of Metropolis City. Buildings crumble and cars explode around them as they exchange blows.
Finally, after what seems like an eternity, Batman lands a decisive blow on Darkseid, sending the villain hurtling across the city.
Batman: (panting) It's over, Darkseid.
Darkseid: (defeated) How... how could you have defeated me?
Batman: (smiling) Because I had something to fight for. Something more powerful than any Infinity Gauntlet. Love.
Batman faints from accumulating so much energy in his body
CUT TO:
McLovin approaches Batman, tears in his eyes.
McLovin: (crying) Batman, are you okay?
Batman: (weakly) I'll be fine. But I need to rest.
McLovin: (concerned) What can I do?
Batman: (smiling weakly) You can take up the mantle of the Bat. You've proven along the way. You're ready.
McLovin: (surprised) what? don't talk nonsense batman
Batman: (firmly) You've got what it takes. And I'll be with you every step of the way.
McLovin: (worried) Batman what are you saying!
Batman: (smiling weakly) I love you, son.
Batman's eyes close as he exhales his last breath. McLovin looks up, tears running down his face.
McLovin: (sobbing) Batman... no...
