CHAPTER EIGHT || GET BACK SAFE

tw: dick men/harassment

bang. bang. bang. came from the truck. as the two old friends looked at eachother in realisation. Hearts dropping to their stomachs at the sickening revelation. looking around, Ash's bad feeling just got worse as josè stopped Dom in his tracks as he walked over to the truck.

"don't stop driving once you start. get back straight away" he warned, ash watched the interaction her eyebrows knitting together, while  Dom nodded.

"and kelsey there's been a change of plans." Doms eyes shot towards Ash, Ash looked up at josè confused as to what they could've changed. A sudden cloud of panic glooming over her and Dom.

"what? is she not coming back with me?" dom challenged, he had seconds to make a decision if that was the case. leave ash, or blow both of their cover.

"no she's not. nick is going back with you i'm heading to the outskirts of illinois with kelsey we have another pick up to do." dom looked at ash and she nodded, she was adamant she could handle it. she didn't want to see dom any longer anyway the memories were too much.

dom nodded before climbing into the truck, phone in hand as nick followed him. Ash's eyes lingered on josè the dangerous smirk that played on his lips sending a shiver down Ashley's spine.

"let's get going then" ash shrugged opening the door of her car only for josè to stick his hand out stopping the door from opening any more, ash swallowing the lump in her throat as she looked up at him.

"i was actually thinking we have some fun before we head back." ash raised her brows in disbelief as dom drove away nick following in the other car, leaving ash and josé alone, just her car.

"i'm here for a job if you need to get your dick wet ask someone else" ash sassed, josè clearly wasn't happy with her reaction as she noticed his jaw tightened and the look in his eyes grew darker.

"you'll change your mind just wait" ash scoffed getting into her car, watching as he walked round the car getting in the passenger side. sitting where Dom had just been. she wasn't safe, but she could fight. she could take care of herself.

turning the key in the engine she started driving again, heading back, not the same way they came but similarly the drive again was silent, thick tension in the air. but it wasn't the same awkward silence as it had been with Dom. this was dangerous.

ash continued driving, she could feel josè' eyes on her. he glanced from her thighs back to her face, making the hairs on the back of her neck stand tall. the sound of her phone ringing caught her attention grabbing it she assumed it was john the ringleader but she was wrong. holding it up to her ear another familiar voice rung through her ears.

"ash it's tej" her heart skipped a beat, another old family member involved. his voice igniting another agonising string of memories to play out in her mind yet she stayed silent for a moment trying to piece together what she could say without being made.

"Yeah- I said i'd get you your money next week" She scoffed playing it off as if she was on the phone to a dealer, Her quick thinking saving her arse.

"i know you can't say much. But dom sent us a signal. Letty and Roman are a few miles behind you— Just in case" Ash had to hide a small smile that tugged at her lips, she missed them. The words Tej was saying reminding her of what it felt like to be a part of something bigger..
