The rest of the week seemed to fly by, I surprisingly was doing well to catch up on school and to catch up with friends. Don't get me wrong there where some bad parts where someone would ask if I was ok and apologise for my loss, which reminded of them. I didn't like being pitied which is why none of my close friends had said anything about it. Heather continued to gossip about Elijah but like a little girl with a crush I wanted to know everything. Heather said he had moved from a different town to here and that she thinks he has a sister maybe a brother too but due to how much he kept to himself it was hard to tell.

My final lesson of the week had finally ended and everyone quickly rushed to leave for the weekend, I was walking to the front gates to meet Sam, she had been taking me home so that my aunt didn't need to run around after me. I was walking down the stairs to get out, out of nowhere my foot got caught in a gap on one of the steps and in slow motion I saw myself falling forward, I closed my eyes and I knew that this was going hurt. But I never hit the ground, I opened my eyes to see that I was in someone's arms; instead of falling someone had caught me. I looked up to find my self-faced with Elijah and once again I couldn't breathe. He helped me stand upright and kept his hand on my shoulders to ensure I didn't fall again, then he spoke.

"Are you alright?" his voice was angelic, I realised he asked me question so I smiled and responded.

"Yeah thanks, I'm so clumsy" I laughed at an attempt to be funny. He just smiled at me and I smiled back for a few moment we were just starting at each other.

"ELIJAH" we were both pulled out of our trance as someone in a black car got out. Elijah smile disappeared and he started to walk of, I was weirdly upset that he didn't say bye.

As I began to go find Sam, Elijah called to me "See you Amelia" and we both once again smiled at each other and I watched as he drove off.

Sam and heather decided to take me a cute little diner that had just opened up, after spending all my year mainly inside I had no idea that a new diner was opening. After much discussion we all decided to split a plate of nachos, which where delicious. After we ate we just enjoyed some milkshakes and talked, I missed hanging out with me friends and it helped me forget how much I missed my parents.

"Oh, look who just walked in" Heather nodded her head towards the front door and I saw Elijah walk in and over to the front bar where he began talking to a man who I believed to be the owner. When I realised I was staring at him I turned back to my friends, I never told them about him saving me from falling earlier.

"Did you know he came here?" Sam asked heather as she smiled.

"Nope, this is just a happy coincidence" Sam laughed at heathers response and before she could reply, heather spoke again.

"Besides Eric's meeting us here, I wouldn't stalk Elijah with Eric here" Heather smiled and took a sip of her milkshake.

Eric eventually turned up and after a while him and heather left to watch a movie, me and Sam where just about to leave when she kicked me under the table, I looked at her and gasped

"Oww, what was that for" she nodded her head towards Elijah who looked like he was headed over here. I panicked and looked back at Sam "Oh my god is he coming over here " Sam smiled and nodded.

"Amelia?" I loved the way Elijah spoke my name, I looked up to see him standing right in front of. "Elijah, Hey" he smiled and brushed his hair back, "Just wanted to see if you was ok, your foot ok?" at first I was confused but then I realised he was talking about me getting my foot caught and almost falling.

"I'm great, my foot is fine thanks to you" I smiled and Sam lightly kicked me again, she must not know what we were talking about since I never told her what happened earlier.

Sam suddenly coughed and both I and Elijah turned our heads to her.

"Well I'm just gonna go and use the lady's room, be right back Amelia" she smiled at Elijah and walked away to the other end of the diner.

For a few moments we just looked at each other in silence and finally Elijah decided to sit in Sam's place on table.

"So, your new?" I decided to break the silence, he smiled and shrugged.

"Well I have been here for just under a year, but since no one else is new I guess I will always be the new guy" we both laughed.

"Now I know you're not new but you have been absence since I started, correct?" as he asked my smile faded

"My parents died last year" I looked at his face and saw sympathy and he looked worried.

"I'm so sorry" I awkwardly smiled, I didn't one to make him feel bad.

"It's ok, you didn't know" once again we found ourselves sitting in silence.

"I knew you weren't at school, I would have remembered you" he smiled and I found myself staring at his face. Luckily Sam came back, she giving me a very cheeky smile behind Elijah's back.

"What we talking about?" Sam stood next to where Elijah was sitting.

"Nothing much, I was just leaving" Elijah smiled and got up so Sam could sit down.

"Nice meeting you Sam, Amelia, well I'll see you at school" I smiled and felt my face get hot,

"Yeah see you at school"
