I'm woken up by the sound of my own scream. I shoot up, gasping for breath. Images from my dream flood my mind and I start to cry. Someone knocks on my door.
"(Name)? You okay?"
"Y-Yugo...?"
"Yeah, it's me. Can I come in?"
"Mhm." Yugo opens the door and walks over to me.
"Hey, Bubba." I sniffle.
"H-Hi..."
"Did you have a nightmare?" he asks. I nod. "What about?"
"I-I was back on my own...before Noctyx. E-Everything was-" A sob catches in my throat. He sits down beside me and wraps me in his arms.
"Shh, I've got you. I won't let you go," he whispers. I bury my face in his shoulder.
I-I'm sorry..."
"No no-it's alright. I don't mind. Lay with me, Bub." He lays down on my bed and pulls me down next to him.
"D-Don't leave me...please..." Yugo pulls the blanket over us and holds me against his chest.
"I'm not going to leave you. You're never gonna have to suffer by yourself again, I promise. I love you too much for that." I look up at him with watery eyes.
"You...love me?" I ask.
"I love you💙," he answers. I smile and bury my face in his shirt.
"I love you too, Yugo💙"
"Wait for real?" I laugh.
"Yes, for real."
"You wanna be my boyfriend?!" I nod, blushing. He squeezes me tightly then relaxes, still holding me against his chest.
"I love you, my Dārin~💙" he whispers.
"I love you too, my DJ~💙" I whisper back.
