Layla felt her skin crawl at that exact instant when Felix spoke those words. She whispered, trying not to take her eyes off Felix's searing emerald eyes, which appeared to burn like glacial ice. "You can't mean that!" she said. She recalled what she had seen on the roof, the awful image of bloodstained lips on a roof, and she protested, but he stared into some faraway place she could not fathom, and she automatically retreated from him.
Despite his prolonged staring into a place she was unable to understand. I had realized that my eyes had become sharper in the dark and that I could hear better than before. He replied slowly, his voice full of sorrow and despair, "I hoped against hope that Claudia would come to me that night, as I lay in bed." I started to feel an unquenchable appetite in addition to an exponential increase in strength.
His eyes darkened, filled with a sense of self-loathing, as he took a big inhale. When she whispered for him to continue, Layla's fingers trembled in her grasp. However, she tried to give him courage by saying, "I saw the white neck of one of the serving girls, and I immediately understood why this need had arisen." "The craving was stronger than ever before the next morning," he said, sounding low and lonely as if he didn't know she was there.
It seemed as if he was engrossed in his narrative and was not even aware of her presence. He could see that I could take no more of this, as if my veins had split and dried up. I was aware that he would not be able to delay it for very long. He strode like a vengeful angel toward Claudia's quarters, glaring at Emmett. He banged on her door, trembling in his heart, till the sound carried through the walls of the castle. To his amazement, he received no response at all—just his rival's derisive laugh and a demonic voice.
Emmett spat out, "You can knock as hard as you want, but the female dragon inside will not let you pass," in spite of my efforts. I've previously made an attempt. Shall you and I defeat her together? He drew back from Emmett's arrogant expression and refused to reply, rage coursing through his veins. Is it possible that Claudia may see him if she opens the door? he wondered. She replied that she would be out for a stroll in the gardens first thing in the morning, so if she opened the door, he would be able to see her.
His query was answered by Gudren, the flat-faced maid whose eyes peered deep into his soul like obsidian. When he heard Claudia say such things, he understood he had been left in a position of hopelessness, knowing that she had left their house to seek safety away from Emmett and Emmett. He was filled with a ferocious rage as a result, and he turned his ire on Emmett one more time. Her sobbing resounded in the darkness for hours on end, and I couldn't shake the cold feeling that shot through me.
My exhaustion and hunger forced me to suppress them and go on looking for Claudia as the sun beat down on us as we raced through the pine and cypress trees. She said in an ominous tone, "My mistress had felt such terrible despair last night." With the sun beating down on us and the pines and trees all around us, we called out her name as we looked for her.
I am filled with great nostalgia when I consider the one spot on the land that Claudia treasured; a little wall beside a lemon tree that was on the boundary. Every time I had ever imagined, my pulse raced. Upon taking a step forward, my concerns increased tenfold. An chilly spear of scorched fat sent a tingling feeling through my veins. That sensation made my veins tingle as if time had stopped for me.
I had never experienced anything as terrifying as the terror that was waiting for me. Felix's fingers were clasped like they were in a vice despite the shaking he was feeling. Fear gripped his wide eyes as he looked about him, searching for any indication of danger, as if something could suddenly emerge from the shadows. Layla would not be able to alter his perspective on life as long as he would not stop running away from her, despite her best efforts to win him over.
