Chapter Fifty Two.

*Two and a half weeks later*

Thursday

10:19 a.m.

New York City, New York

Photoshoots. Studio sessions. Video shoots. Dance auditions. Songwriting.

That's all Alexis had known for the past couple of weeks. Running both her label and assisting with Shady Records was definitely a whirlwind for her, but of course it was nothing that she could not handle. She had to admit, while it was definitely tiring, it kept her incredibly busy. She strongly disliked feeling bored.

Alexis rode through the busy New York streets with her sunglasses over her eyes while listening to Mary J. Blige's Share My World album. She pulled into the parking garage of the building that hosted both U.N.I.T Records and Shady Records and turned off the ignition to the car. She stepped out of the vehicle, dressed in a pair of black ripped high waist jeans, a black three quarter sleeved crop top, matching thigh high boots and a matching leather fur trench coat.

The dark eggplant colored lipstick and her recently trimmed short curly bob pulled the look together perfectly. She stepped onto the elevator and took it up to the floor where her label resided. There was no work to be done for Shady Records that day, so she had the time to work on her own music before Isa Belle came to the studio later that afternoon.

Alexis walked out of the elevator and walked past the receptionist desk, giving a polite smile to Stephani as a greeting. She walked into the studio and placed her handbag on the black leather couch. She removed the trench jacket and draped it across the couch. She reached into the handbag and pulled out her notebook before taking a seat at the soundboard. She grabbed the pen and allowed herself to get lost in the lyrics for the next hour.

"Guess who's in the house?!" Mike announced.

Alexis turned her head and saw both Mike and Vince walking into the studio. She squealed excitedly and got up from her chair, immediately greeting them with hugs and cheek kisses.

"I'm so glad you guys could make it." She told them.

"We're glad to hear you getting back in the studio again." Vince said.

"For real. You know Visionary had everybody in a head spin for a while." Mike commented.

"And your girl is ready to put them back into a head spin." Alexis declared.

"That's why we here, girl! Let's get to it. Show us what you thinking 'bout." Vince told her.

Over the next two and a half hours, Alexis, Vince and Mike went back and forth with one another discussing melodies and lyrics for a couple of the songs she was thinking of. Alexis decided to try her hand at one of her songs she wrote called Time's Up. Terrell even came into the studio while they were working and added his input. Alexis was certainly grateful to Carmen for recommending him to her. He was truly a great addition to her circle of music.

"I think we got another winner on our hands. Whenever you ready to record, just let us know." Mike told Alexis.

"I might be ready by Saturday. But I will keep y'all updated for sure." Alexis nodded her head and looked at her watch, "Oh, I think Isa Belle is supposed to be here any minute."
