I have no idea why I'm publishing so many romance one shots but I hope you enjoy them nonetheless. Here's some BBrae for all of my Teen Titans fans out there!

"We humans fear the beast within the wolf because we do not understand within ourselves."
-Gerald Housman

It had been a week since the infamous "Beast" incident. Although Beast Boy had been assured he'd been cleared of the chemicals, he was still wary at being near any of his team. Especially Raven since she'd been the target of the two beasts. One night, Raven decided to visit her teammate. All week she had to endure his grieving and depressing aura and thoughts. It had even began to interfere with her sleep. Frustrated with her on going insomnia, the empath decided to go have a chat with the source.

Raven stood in front of the door but did not knock. On the way over, she'd been completely confident in her plan. But now as she stood in front of the steel door with the name plate Beast Boy, all her confidence seemed to float away.
'I can do this! Why am I hesitant? It's not like he's still the beast. Cyborg cleared him. Could it be? I'm scared of him? But, I wasn't before.'
Now realizing that she was potentially dangerous, what with her sensitive emotions, Raven decided to go back to her room and try another day.

Meanwhile, Beast Boy watched as the shadow quietly moved away from his door. He'd been awoken from his thoughts by the familiar scent of lavender that he'd come to associate with Raven. At first, he'd had the instinct to tell Raven to leave but he didn't have the heart. Although he ended up not having to since she didn't stay long. But, wasn't it time for him to man up and talk to her? As he sat in the darkness of his room, he went back to his previous thoughts of the day. Most of which involved Raven. Yes, he may as well admit he held a certain fondness towards the purple haired telepath. But, he could not act on it. Unlike Tara, Raven had clear boundaries with him. She tolerated him. And that was it. She'd never see him as less than a fellow teammate, a friend if she was in a good mood. It had hurt to realize but it was better he did now than to risk getting his heart broken, again. He shook his head and concentrated on recalling his time as the beast. In his eyes, the only way to overcome his guilt was to revisit the events and come to terms with them.

Another day past and neither one spoke to the other. The rest of the team thought it best not to interfere as they knew it was better if the two worked it out on their own.

That night, Raven sat with her back against her headboard with a book in hand. It was a book about how to calm her empathic powers. As she turned the page, there was a knock at her door. Slamming the book shut, Raven rose from her bed and floated to the door. With a disgruntled look, she opened it slightly.
"What..."
Standing in front of her was Beast Boy. He'd seen better days and his smell was lack for a better word, awful. She quickly cleared her throat so as to not seem nervous.
"What do you want?" She asked coldly.
"Can we talk?" His tone was a far cry from the usual happy and upbeat voice.
"We are talking now."
"I mean really talk. We haven't done that since the time on the shore." (Reference: The Beast Within final scene.)
"Can this wait? I'm tired and it's late. Besides, there's nothing to talk about." As Raven began to close the door, a gloved hand stopped her.
"Please Raven. It'll only take a few minutes." Beast Boy begged while holding the door open.
"Fine. But we talk in the living room."

Soon, both teens sat on the big couch in the titans living room, not speaking.
"So...how've you been?" Raven turned to her green companion with a steel glare.
"If you wanted to talk, talk, I'm not in the mood to foolishly discuss other matters."
Beast Boy stiffened at her tone. He knew he couldn't put off the issue any longer. With a sigh, he began to tell Raven his thoughts.
"I'm scared."
The seriousness in his tone caught Raven off guard but she did her best to disguise it with a stoic face.
"I'm scared that I might turn into the beast again and that I may do more damage than I did before. I'm already unstable as it is and to now have a beast creature inside me is worse. I don't want to hurt anyone. Primarily the team and especially you."
Raven watched as he fumbled with his hands, a classic nervous habit.
"As I told you before Beast Boy, having that creature inside of you doesn't make you a monster. Knowing when to let it out, makes you a man. I do not worry that you will harm me or the team. But if you do, I won't hesitate to fling you into the nearest building."
Beast Boy laughed at the remark. The two remained silent for another few minutes until Beast Boy got up from his spot on the couch.
"Where are you going?"
"Well, I don't know about you but I reek. I think it's time I get a shower."
"You think?"
"Thanks for the talk Raven. Hey, would you want to go into town tomorrow? Maybe get a coffee?"
"Maybe, as long as it doesn't interfere with our training."
"Great!" Hoping to hide his blush, Beast Boy ran to his room. Raven sat still until she realized she had just agreed to a date with Beast Boy. Now, it was her turn to blush crimson.

The next day, after breakfast, the two bid the team goodbye and headed into town. It was peaceful and the two felt at ease. They both knew it would take some time to recover from what happened in the past few days but they could do it. After all, that's what superheroes do.
