There was a girl. Cast away from everyone. A forgotten doll amid thousands. Her name was Marinette. Ever since the beginning, no one even cared to give it a look. So why hadn't she left this life of unlove? Because she kept hope.
Marinette's POV:*Beep Beep Beep*
Another day, another start of torture.
I dressed in my usual attire; a black hoodie, dark ripped pants, brown boots, and leather gloves. Nothing interesting ever occurred in my life. Same thing again and again. Wake up, get dressed, silence during breakfast, walk to school, listen to Chloe make fun of me, class, lunch, class, go home, do homework, sleep, make dinner, sleep.
Third Person POV
Perhaps things might change this year. However, the girl had low hopes. Breakfast was silent as usual, not even the crunch of bacon. The walk to school was silent except for the pounding of her music. As Marinette got closer to the school entrance, she noticed a huge crowd blocking the doors. Marinette ducked her head, but a certain blonde noticed the hooded girl.
"Oh look, it's the freak!" Everyone turned their head towards Marinette.
"Trying to get a look at Adrien? Well, fat chance, freak. He's too perfect to look down at the little people."
Marinette remained silent, reminding herself it would be over soon. But it stopped quicker than normal. "Chloe, stop it."
Marinette didn't bother to hear the rest of it. She took the opportunity and ran. "Ugh, babe! I wasn't done with her!"Marinette didn't even bother to pay attention since the teacher was talking about Sleeping Beauty. A book she'd read over 100 times. Then the door opened, and a secretary asked the teacher to step out.
Oh no. That means—Smack! Yep, trouble.
Heels clicked over to Marinette's seat, and all she saw was a pair of ice-blue eyes before a burning feeling on her cheek. "That's for leaving before I told you too."
"CHLOE, what did I say? Leave her alone!"
"Oh babe, I can't. Someone has to keep the freak in place. Now then, since you disobeyed me. I want you to get down on your knees and cry. For I don't know, your dead sister. The one YOU killed. The favorite. The better one. The one everyone wishes had survived instead. C'mon, do it! NOW!"
Marinette didn't want to, but she was scared. Nevertheless, something told her to remain still. Unfortunately, this only angered the blonde before her.
"I said get on the floor, tramp! Or do I have to make you?"
Silence.
"Fine. I guess it's gonna be the hard way."
Marinette had never disobeyed Chloe, so the blonde never had to resort to making her. This had everyone on the edge of their seats. Chloe punched Marinette in the stomach to make her fall, but she stood still. The blonde pulled the bluenette's hair and punched her multiple times in the chest.
"Idiot! Why won't you just give up?!"
Marinette didn't respond, which put the blonde over the top. "THAT'S IT!"
Chloe punched Marinette again, took her by the shoulders, and threw her across the room. The poor girl hit the teacher's desk and slid down. Her face held no emotion. Chloe wasn't finished. She stomped over and began to punch Marinette multiple times. Finally, she lifted the limp body of the young girl and punched her in the face again.
"I want you to be unrecognizable!"
All of Chloe's followers were in shock. They wanted to help but were too scared. Students began to scream.
"She's gonna kill her!"
"Somebody stop her!"
"Her face! It's going white!"
"Chloe, stop!"
"That's enough!"
But the blonde didn't stop. She carried the girl up the stairs and threw her into the chalkboard. After the dust settled, all left was a small girl's un-moving body covered in white chalk. Blood began to seep through the white coat of chalk dust.
"Adrien, what are you doing?"
"Chloe, what's wrong with you? Oh, God! I think you've killed her!"
Multiple people began to surround the unmoving body. Suddenly it began to move. Everyone moved back as the young girl opened her eyes. She looked around, and her eyes widened in fear.
"W-why?"
The words were merely whispers, her voice quivering in fear. Despite cuts and bruises, she raced out the door in seconds.
"Follow her, and your life is over."
Everyone listened except one person.
"Babe, come back!"
"Don't call me that! I don't like you!"
Adrien looked left and right. The trail of red led him to old unused classrooms. The trail stopped, and his hands grasped the door, but it was locked. "Please let me in. I know you're in there! I'm not going to hurt you!"
Adrien couldn't wait and knocked the door down. Because it was so old, the door easily fell.
Whimpering sounded from the darkness. "Please. My name is Adrien. I am not going to hurt you."
Adrien cautiously stepped around. As his eyes adjusted to the dark, he saw boxes and old chairs stacked. His eyes focused on a shadow, the girl.
Then a light red and pink glow emerged from her. The glow seemed to envelop her in a protective barrier. He watched in wonder as her wounds seemed to heal. But it was her hair that was the most unnatural of all.
A soft voice emerged from her cracked and bleeding lips as her shoulder-length hair grew until it was wrapped around her.
"Magic shine and gleams. Reset the day. Let the wounds heal. Make the sadness fade. Forget what has passed. And memories fade. Let the anger go. And let the spirits forget."
