Chapter 2

SAKURA STARED AT KONOHA'S gates in the distance. She still wore her qipao dress, spandex shorts, red ribbon etc. all that's changed is the black mask which covered half her face and the tanto resting on her back. Her chokuto was sealed away. She turned to Tsunade and Shizune. "Is this goodbye?" Sakura asked and Tsunade shook her head.

"We'll see you again, we promise." Tsunade said and Shizune nodded in agreement. They were startled when Sakura practically tackled them into a hug. "Thank you.. for everything." Sakura said, tears running down her face. Shizune crouched down and hugged her back and Tsunade did the same after a moment.

They pulled away after a moment. "Now, remember. Don't tell anyone you're a Senju, or that you're going to join ANBU. Only we will know. Enrol in the academy. You have about six months until graduation.." Tsunade started and Sakura smiled under her mask.

"I've informed the Hokage of your visit, he knows about everything. He will test you tonight at 9pm sharp, don't be late. And remember, the Senju fundings are yours from Konoha, I left a shit ton behind because I couldn't be bothered to grab it all. I wouldn't stay in the Senju compound, get an apartment." Tsunade continued to ramble like a worried mother and Shizune hid a snicker behind her hand.

When she finished, Tsunade sighed, ruffling Sakura's hair. "If you die brat, I'll kill you." Tsunade said and Sakura blinked. "Uh, I won't die." She replied and Tsunade nodded in approval. "Now, go. Before I kidnap you." Tsunade said, pushing Sakura forward slightly. Sakura smiled, waving at them before she walks towards Konoha. Tsunade and Shizune wave back before disappearing.

Sakura arrived at the gates, seeing the gate guards who raised an eyebrow at her. "Name and identification." One of the guards demanded. "Sakura. I'm here to see the Hokage." Sakura replied and the guards exchanged a look. "He's been expecting you." The one with bandages over his nose said, before grabbing her arm.

She felt the familiar pull of a Shunshin before she appeared outside the Hokage's office. The guard knocked on the door. "Enter." A gruff voice replied and Sakura opened the door and she was guided in. "Sakura, I assume." The Hokage mused, taking a puff of his smoking pipe thing. Sakura nodded and the guard bowed, disappearing.

"Now, I am aware of your situation which shocks me slightly that Tsunade has reached out to me." The Third said amused, clasping his hands together. Sakura just sent him an eye smile, making his eye twitch at the familiarity of her and a particular Jounin.

"Well, my meeting was cancelled. So I'll test you now." The Hokage said, standing up. Sakura blinked but nodded and he guided her out of the office. They walked through Konoha, getting some looks and bows to the Hokage who smiled at anyone walking past. Sakura could feel the multiple ANBU following them.

They arrived at a training grounds and the Hokage dismissed the ANBU who reluctantly left. He took off his cloak and hat to reveal battle armour. She blinked and got into a fighting stance. He was a blur as he charged towards her. She ducked under a kick and sent a fist to his armour, sending him skidding back. He smirked.

She unsheathed her Tanto as he grabbed two kunais. They clashed immediately and clangs of metal were heard as they aim to get a hit on eachother.

She flipped over him, hitting a Kunai out of his hand, making him only armed with one. She spun the tanto in her hand before sending a strike. He blocked it with his Kunai but she sent a punch to his face, he tilted his head dodging it and smacked the Tanto out of her hand and up into the air above them. She jumped up, grabbing it and spinning upside down, blocking a strike from the Hokage's Kunai.

She applied pressure against him as she landed on her feet. She did one handed- hand signs which he tried to stop by sending a punch but she used his hand to do the final hand sign by grabbing his hand. She hits his other kunai away and used his chest as a spring board to flip back and sent out a fireball to him.

He jumped back and used a wind style to dissipate it. He looked around once the smoke disappeared, to see nothing. He raised an eyebrow before sensing Sakura give. He looked up, seeing her lifting her leg up to her head, ready to slam her heel down on his head. He jumped back and grinned as her foot hot the ground, a giant crater was the result of the attack. Yes, this girl would make a fine ANBU.

She sheathed her Tanto, grabbing two Kunai and disappearing in a blur. She blurred around him, sending strikes which he evaded, blocked or some would hit. She panted as she skidded back from a kick to the gut. She clenched her fists, before grinning, he raised an eyebrow.

A clone broke out from the ground, sending an uppercut to his chin. He leaned back, dodging by a hair. He grabbed the clones wrist and stabbed it, making it puff into smoke. "SHANNARO!" Was all he heard before the training round was wrecked. He sweatdropped, she truly was like Tsunade.

They fought for nearly 30 more minutes. She stood in front of him, healing her own injuries as she panted. He wasn't as exhausted as her, but Sakura was a good fight. She is a skilled shinobi. "Meet me at my office in 10 minutes after you freshen up." He said amused as he picked up his hokage cloak and hat before disappearing. She huffed, deciding she would just break into a Senju compound and take a shower.

After she did that, she reappeared in the Hokage's office. She got on one knee and he smiled, now uninjured from their battle. "You're a skilled Kunoichi, Haruno Sakura." The Hokage said, stroking his beard. She smiled beneath her mask.

"I would promote you straight to ANBU captain, I can do that but I'd like to see you do some missions before anything else. And how you get along with your teammates." The Hokage mused as Sakura widened her eyes in shock.

"Anbu Captain? Not to be rude, but isn't that too soon? I'm not that strong." Sakura replied and the Hokage chuckled. "Very humble. Noted." He murmured. Suddenly, a pair of folded clothes and a mask appeared in front of her. ANBU attire, she noted.

She looked at the Hokage who smiled. "Welcome to the ANBU black ops, Haruno Sakura." The Hokage mused and she picked up the Kitsune mask, putting it on her face making the Hokage smile. "Thank you for having me." She replied and he smiled. "You will get your tattoo tomorrow, and you will be introduced to the others." The Hokage said and she nodded. "Dismissed." He smirked and she disappeared in a swirl of cherry blossoms, the clothes on the floor gone.
