We open on Gwen.
Gwen:I hear 'normal' kids 'normally' spend their 'normal' summer vacations at the beach. Or at the mall...! Oho, that's right. WE were supposed to go to the mall today!
Gwen yells this behind her to Grandpa Max and Alfred. The camera rotates 180^ to reveal the three have been tied together with a chain and hung upside down.
Max:Sorry, honey. Got a little 'sidetracked'.
Alfred:Define Sidetracked.
They hang in the middle of a spacious, disheveled room encircling a large reactor in its center. Dr. Animo is busy preparing a machine on an elevated platform surrounding the reactor. As he twists some knobs, the device starts humming and a digital display starts counting down from 60.
Dr. Animo:This nuclear reactor is the perfect way to detonate my DNA Bomb - into the atmosphere - and de-evolutionize the world!
Suddenly, the ground shakes, and the shut door to the room explodes open, startling Animo.
Gwen:Took them long enough.
The area clears of smoke, revealing Ben, transformed as Heatblast and Batman.
Heatblast:OK, Animo, science class is cancelled!
Dr. Animo:Fool! In less than a minute, the world will get a lesson it will never forget! In the meantime, meet my latest creation...
He gestures high above him, as a mutant hornet flies in and prepares to pounce on Heatblast.
Heatblast:Bring it on! I'll barbecue that bug!
Heatblast shoots a wave of fire at some nearby barrels. They detonate in a chain explosion, leading up to where the hornet was flying. To make it stronger Batman chucks explosives at the barrels.
Heatblast:Oh yeah! Being a hero rocks! (gasps)
They see the hornet rising out of the fire, unscathed. It zooms toward him. Heatblast rockets off the ground with his fire, and Batman leaps to the side narrowly avoiding the hornet's pounce. In the air, Heatblast turns toward the hornet and flings 5 spinning discs of fire at it. They each explode the ground around the hornet, but it still flies after him.
Batman throws his grappling hook around the hornets legs he yanks holding down the hornet as Heatblast lands on the ground avoiding a grab from the hornet's legs as it flies past him. In retaliation, Heatblast charges up a big ball of fire in his hands and launches it, the hornets strength makes Batman let go although he misses and it hits the ceiling, bringing his attention to Gwen and Max, still suspended in the air.
Gwen:Hey, "Hothead"?! DNA Bomb ticking down over here, remember?!
Heatblast shoots a stream of fire at the chain winch holding Alfred Gwen and Max up, causing it to break. Now released, they start falling.
Gwen:Aaaaahhh!
Max quickly grabs her tight with one arm and uses the other to grab a grappling gun from his belt. He fires it at a ceiling beam; it latches on, and they swing to the ground safely. As they get up, the hornet tries to take a stab at them, but they flee just in time, and the hornet gets it stinger stuck in the ground.
Dr. Animo(to Heatblast):Even YOU can't generate enough heat to melt that casing!
Heatblast:If I can't shut it down, I'll just have to turn it up!
Heatblast starts spewing a continuous wave of fire at the small porthole in the base of the reactor.
Gwen:Ben, you don't know what that's going to do!
Heatblast:Can't be any worse than what's going to happen if I don't!
As the fire continues, pipes all over the reactor start to burst and shoot out steam. Dr. Animo's machine is overrun with electricity.
Dr. Animo:NOOO! YOU'RE OVERLOADING THE SYSTEM!
He hurries off the platform to find cover.
Heatblast:That's the idea.
Pipes keep bursting; the water-filled chamber inside the reactor starts boiling; all gauges point down; and the countdown finally stops at the second-to-last second. Heatblast stops his fire and gives a thumbs up to Gwen behind him. However, an alarm from the machine interrupts him. The machine suddenly starts releasing powerful waves of energy throughout the room.
Batman and Heatblast are caught off guard and blown back by the waves. They pass over and disturb the Omnitrix symbol on his chest. Max Alfred and Gwen take cover as the waves rush past them, and out into the rest of the nuclear plant. As they finish passing, Max Alfred and Gwen look back at Batman Heatblast. Bens now turned back to Ben, holding his head on the ground and Batman holds his chest in pain.
Dr. Animo(now riding on the hornet):YOU MAY HAVE RUINED MY PLAN TODAY, DUO!, BUT THERE'S ALWAYS TOMORROW!
He flies off. Ben and Batman get up, and Alfred Gwen and Max run to them.
Max:Guys, are you OK?
Ben:Yeah.
Batman:Little Sting but should be ok.
Ben:Good thing I was Heatblast, 'cause that DNA wave would've scrambled me.
