MJ POV
Signing for Angle City was probably something I had wanted to do for a while. While playing at Barca, I felt trapped, like I was improving, like no matter what I did, there was no improving.
When the news came out saying I had signed a loan, I got many messages from Barca players asking why. What was I supposed to say? I'm not happy. That isn't a good answer. I had everything over there: my sister and my girlfriend. I don't know if I could call her that anymore.
I had been staying with Chris and Tobin, who took me under their wing as soon as I told them why I was there. Chris and I would go to physical therapy and the field to do some drills with the trainers.
I had to focus on my recovery and nothing else. I would still talk to Alba. She had been supportive of me through the whole thing.
Seven months later
My recovery had been one of the hardest, but my support from everyone at Angel City was terrific, and having Chris and Tobin helped me through it. I would play in the upcoming games, which would be good. That also meant that my contract with Angel City ended, and I could either extend or end it.
I had to stay focused on the upcoming match and ensure I was fit, which meant training extra hard and on my own. I needed to play with this team to see if I would stay or go. Playing in America was something that I had always dreamed of.
Angel City was like a fresh start to me, and that was what I needed the most right now. I wasn't good enough to play in Barca to everyone around me. With being cleared to play, I knew the Barca girls were on break.
This was the last game for Angle City if we wanted to qualify to play in the championship game, which all the girls wanted to do.
I came on pretty late in the game, and I knew if we scored, we would qualify for the playoffs. I was running down the wing when I saw Syd running in, and I crossed it to her for her to bicycle kick into the goal to get us into the playoffs.
She ran towards me, and I carried her quickly before I put her down. The game ended, and we were all celebrating making it to the playoffs. I hadn't realized that some of the Barca girls were in the stands till I locked eyes with Mapi, who had been staring at me for a good minute.
I didn't walk toward them; instead, I walked around the field, talking to all the fans and taking pictures before making my way toward the locker room, where all the girls were dancing and singing at the top of their lungs.
Short chapter: I am back at school on break. You all have my attention. However, I need ideas for writing this book, so if you could send them to me, that would be amazing.
