"such a pretty vision,
there was no reason, no explanation"

The wind around her was like a cool mint breath. Above her was a pool of sapphire sprinkled with balls of white fluff. Meilin couldn't quite make out the setting, but she couldn't bring herself to try. She was dreaming, that's for sure. Yet, it didn't feel like a dream.

Her feet that tickled in the plush grass were taking real steps. With each of those steps, the ground beneath her glowed with luminescence. There were flowers in the grass, some with white petals, others with orange. Waves softly hitting land could be heard in the distance.

Meilin carried herself to the sound. She was running, yet it felt like she was flying. Her body felt weightless in the altered reality. It were as if some sort of unrevealed force was pulling her to the sound of water. She felt a cool breath tickle at her skin, goosebumps growing. Though, her chest grew warm.

She ran and ran, finally seeing a hint of blue meet the land. The body of water was vast and sparkling. It reflected the beams of the sun burning overhead. They complemented each other perfectly. The river couldn't shine without the star. There was something so compelling about the waves that rippled with the calm breeze, bringing the waves closer to her. She sat on the grass, watching it soundly.

Meilin sat there for a moment. It was calm. The river was mesmerizing. She knew the water was warm, even if she weren't touching it. "Where am I?" she spoke almost inaudibly. It was like paradise. Her wildest dreams could roam free— nothing mattered. All of a sudden, a crazy thought crept into her head. Her hands that were not scarred in the dream world held out towards the water.

A feeling of relief surged over her like the same energy she felt before as it came up, levitating above her palms.

"I can shift here!" she exclaimed, jumping up in joy. The liquid danced above her hands, mini tsunamis formed in the cup sized amount. She formed the water into different shapes, amazed with how blue it was. Gently, she tossed it back into the river. Out of curiosity, she held her palm out toward the grass beneath her, flexing her arm as hard as she could— yet it didn't budge.

"Okay, earth shifting is a no here." she hummed in disappointment.

She reverted her attention back to the river, smiling uncontrollably. It was inviting, like a stranger she once knew. Meilin shifted her weight forward, leaning over to catch a glimpse of her reflection in the contorted ripples.

Yet, she didn't see what she expected. Her eyes were blue, just like the water. Her body was glowing slightly, as if she really were in a dream. And the most shocking part was her hair— it was completely white like snow. She gulped, not quite recognizing the person she was looking at. She knew it was her, but why did she look so different? Carefully, her fingertips approached the water, centimeters away from breaking the surface tension.

When they made contact, a loud clap of thunder rang through the land and a strike of lightning brought her back into reality.

The sound of thunder was replaced with a knock at her door, making the Princess jolt up in her bed. Groggily, Meilin turned her head to the clock hung on the wall, pursing her lips forward at the sight. "Princess Meilin, we have to leave soon." an impatient voice was on the other side of the door.

Jeno sighed, resting his back onto the wall. The two of them were both not well rested, his head pounding at his temples. He lugged himself downstairs, a somewhat familiar smell greeting him. At the kitchen island stood the knight in a sweater and slacks. He glanced over at the new arrival, raising his eyebrows as a greeting.
