TW: Some description of pain at the start.

***

Pain. That was all Lyra felt after going through that narrow dark corridor. A bright red light. Her bones aching everywhere. She couldn't breathe.

How dare you shame the black family name! Spending time with halfbreeds, blood trai-

    "Wake up!"

Lyra gasped and shot up to see a a dark outline of a man in front of her holding her arms. She shrieked and threw her arms at him, trying to break free. But he grabbed her more tighter, trying to calm her down.

    "Lyra! It's me!"

She froze and blinked to get a clear view of Remus as a bit of moonlight came into the room . "L-Lupin?" Lyra stuttered between her panicked breaths.

She felt him put a strand of hair behind her ear and wiped a few tears on her cheek before saying, "It's okay. You just had a nightmare." He said it in the most softest voice which made Lyra melt inside. She looked into his chocolate eyes as he smiled softly at her.

    "You alright?"

Her mind suddenly drifted to her nightmare. A sob left her. She suddenly felt Remus pulling her into an embrace. "Shh it's okay." She nuzzled against his chest as he stroked her hair. "Just take deep breathes," she heard him say. She didn't realise how fast she was breathing. Only after she calmed down, her eyes widened in realisation. She pulled back to look at Remus, "wait, what are you doing in my dorm?"

As soon as she said this, memories of last night flooded her mind. She fell asleep. On Sirius' bed.

"This is my dorm Lyra," he said in a soft voice. "You fell asleep, remember?"

Lyra nodded then suddenly looked back at him with widened eyes. "Wait if I'm here then where's Sirius?"

Remus gave her a comforting smile. "Don't worry, he's sleeping on the floor - I conjured a mattress. He was happy to sleep there," he added when Lyra was about to protest.

"Ohh, I'm so sorry. I probably woke you up," Lyra said, feeling guilty.

Remus smiled at her. "It's okay you didn't. I came back from the bathroom and saw you moving around a lot. Speaking of that, do you want to talk about it?" He looked patiently. Lyra didn't want to talk about her nightmare. It was too much to even think about. Being under the cruciatus curse is not a something anyone would want to talk about. She slowly shook her head.
