isabella's pov

melissa answered the phone after a few seconds, which meant that she wasn't working today.

"hey, melissa!" i said, trying to sound at least a little cheerful.

it not that i'm sad, i'm angry, annoyed, exasperated, and frankly pissed off.

"oh, hey! what's up?" she asked.

i got right to the chase, "nate and i got into a fight today."

i could tell that she was taken aback by my words and my bluntness, i usually was one for small talk on the phone before i started to rant about stuff.

"what?"

"yeah, i know. in the mall today. we saw his ex-girlfriend there and they started talking awkwardly. so, i confronted him, and it turns out he, like, texts her a lot and they've been talking. he says they've never seen each other in person while they were texting, but i don't know," i said, relaxing a little under the covers of my bed.

"are you serious? wow, i-i don't know what to say, that must be really annoying."

"tell me about it! i just don't know what to do. right after i found out, i made him drive me back home, and we didn't talk for the whole car ride, pretty much."

the only reason why i called melissa was because she was the one who introduced, and pretty much got nate and i together. not that i'm blaming her, but i feel like i could talk to her about him more.

"well, did you guys break up? you shouldn't be with him if he's still talking to his ex, you never know what could happen." she advised.

i let out a sigh before i spoke, "no, we technically didn't break up. but i'm pretty sure he assumed we are, i mean i made it pretty clear that i wanted nothing to do with him while we were there, so..."

"yeah. that must suck, isa. i'm so sorry to hear that!" melissa replied, understanding what i was hesitating to say.

"i guess. thanks for listening to me rant, though. i'll see you at the salon, yeah?" i asked.

"sure, see you isa."

i hung up and inhaled. this was one hell of a day.
