911, what's your grievance
4x04

Although Sadie didn't want to specifically be known as his girlfriend, she could tell he needed something that would make his parents veer away from the topic of conversation that would be him.

She was happy to be the distraction until they started talking about her parents. Of course she knew what had really happened would have ruined the whole thing, which Buck probably would have been glad about.

But she lied, straight through her teeth like she'd been doing for years. It felt like she was back at 18 with Nathan, lying to Daniel and Henry about where she was. She knew they loved her and they knew more then anyone about the ways of abusive relationships and how hard it was to get away.

For godsakes, Henry was a sergeant in the LAPD, while Daniel was a Prosecution lawyer for the side of Criminal Law. The three of them grew up with a criminal so of course they would either turn into crazed maniac serial killers or first responders. Good thing the first responders happened first because Sadie would probably already be in jail.

Anyway, she stood in the kitchen watching Buck who was in the living room talking to Chimney, and Albert. The Buckley parents had already gone home, stating 'you need to get to bed Maddie, it's good for the baby.' Sometimes Sadie was glad to not have parents.

She hadn't even seen the pregnant women walk into the kitchen and stand next to her.

"Your not his girlfriend are you?" She jumped when she heard a voice. Her brow furrowed as she looked at Bucks sister who was standing next to her with a 'don't give me that shit' look.

"Nope just a coworker."

"Not just a coworker, I can't tell you guys are friends."

"Acquaintances maybe."

"No, your friends, maybe more. I'm his sister I can tell when he wants to be someone's friend. He's clingy with you and invited you somewhere with his family, our dysfunctional family. He wouldn't even invite Eddie to this." Sadie stared at Maddie.

What was she even talking about?

More then friends?

Oof. Not like that.

"We'll we've become friends. I guess."

Maddie nodded and looked at the girl for a money before looking at her brother and boyfriend.

"Evan told me that we would get along, I didn't really understand why though. But when I saw Bucks and Chimneys faces when my parents asked about your family I knew it was bad. I don't want to pry, but you lied straight through your teeth, like you'd done it before. The look in your eyes gave it away." She said to the younger girl.

The blonde turned to the brunette. But didn't look her in the eyes.

"We have similar pasts I've been told. Buck disclosed some things to me about you. I was in an abusive relationship for 2 years, my brothers had no idea which is surprising because one's a cop and the others a criminal lawyer. My parents, well there not in my life, one's dead and ones in prison for it." Maddie looked at her.

"It might just because I'm pregnant and hormones but can I hug you?" Sadie stared at her, besides her own family she'd never really had any friends. And now she had Eddie, Buck, and Maddie. She never really had that at 156.

She nodded, Maddie grabbed her very awkwardly due to her being pregnant and hugged the best she could.

"We'll have to hang out soon. I would love to get to know you better, especially if you're gonna be here with Buck more." She gave Sadie a smirk and the young blonde blushed. She turned her head just a bit to avoid Maddies look and saw Buck looking at them in adoration. She smiled gratefully at him.
