Chapter 19: Reason

SANA'S POV

"How's Chicago?"

"Their buildings are brilliant! We visited Shedd Aquarium, Willis Tower, and had their famous deep-dish pizza!" I enumerated each thing I remembered we did while touring at Chicago within our free days after the concert. Momo and I were face-timing with Mina.

"I wish you were here, Minari." I pouted.

"Soon, unnie. I'll just get... stronger." She chuckled.

"You will!"

She showed us her gummy smile and nodded.

Months have already passed. A few more concerts and we'll finish our world tour. Mina was still in Japan, getting some rest and healing. We call her from time to time, sharing to her our experiences with her never feeling left out.

Days passed by so fast. It was now the last month of the year, our birth month. The continuation of our concert will be held next year so we'd celebrate Christmas here in Korea and with our families. Still, we can't escape from song festivals and award shows.

We had to practice for our performances and attend. It's tiring but we're seeing ONCES again so our efforts are all worth it.

"Sana, someone's finding you!"

"Wait for a second!" I answered. We're currently at KBS for the song festival. The members and I are getting ready. My makeup artist's almost done with my makeup.

Who could that be?

It couldn't be Taehyung because first of all, he's probably preparing at their waiting room as well. Second of all, we're at KBS! Someone might see us. And foremost, I don't want to get scolded by Jihyo again.

Two days from now will be my birthday, and the following day will be Taehyung's. Coincidentally, we have consecutive birthdays. Though he's still a year older than me for he was born in 1995 while I'm in 1996.

We agreed before that we should try not to be obvious in award shows. That even though our eyes are already itching to see each other's faces, we should not yield. That's what we've talked about and suggested to maybe lessen our leader's headache because of us.

"Sattang..."

It was indeed Taehyung at the door! Excited and wholeheartedly missing him, I was about to jump and embrace him when I noticed the figures just behind him.

It was his younger sister, Eonjin with his bitch of a friend, Sena.

Seeing Sena here, I didn't care anymore and just hugged my man.

"I miss you!" I kissed his neck for a second, lowkey glancing at Sena's surprised Pikachu face.

Taehyung embraced me even tighter and lifted me a little bit before kissing me on my forehead. "I miss you too."

"Excuse me, we are here." Eonjin coughed and rolled her eyes.

Taehyung and I both chuckled and faced them.

"Glad to see you staying strong together." Eonjin shrugged boringly and raised her hands towards me for an embrace. I accepted and patted her back.

"And glad to see you here too!"

We parted and she smiled warmly at me. I smiled back, feeling giddy. She looks just like Taehyung, only that she's the feminine version. And it's a new sight to see her beaming at me.

Eonjin isn't exactly the nicest person but she's reasonable. I sensed that she doesn't trust people easily and if she does, then that person passed her vibe check. So I guess, I passed? In some way, she's the same with her brother.
