"What do you know about fated mates?"

Yoongi turned around and found Jungkook looking at him in a way he had never seen before. His eyes were full of curiosity but at the same time, there was so much more than that. Yoongi wasn't sure what was hiding behind that mysterious look, but it made him interested.

"I've read about it once. It's when alpha and omega are destinated to be with each other and develop an intense connection both mentally and physically. I heard they can sense it even by the very first time they meet each other", Yoongi explained while the younger kept nodding slowly.

"Can it really happen? Or is sit just some kind of a myth?"

"You think you experienced that with the omega in the ball yesterday?" Yoongi raised a brow. He was able to read between the lines of Jungkook being suddenly so curious about the topic. That's something Jungkook forgot to consider before bringing up his thoughts.

"I don't wanna talk about it. Forget that I even asked you about this, okay?" Jungkook sighed heavily and put the end to that conversation. He felt like he had to or else he would've accidentally spilled the truth. The truth that was too sensitive to be told to anyone. Yoongi nodded and went back to read his book.

To protect his secret about his true feelings, Jungkook made some decisions. It was not right to have feelings towards another alpha, he knew it. It was something you would get punished for if someone found out about it. It was better to just get over them and let your life go on.

So with that, Jungkook went to look for his dad from his office. He had an idea of how to cover himself from everyone's curiosity about him and his relationship with the guard. He was the crown prince after all, so he was always the potential target of rumors and scandals.

He knocked on the dark wooden door and it didn't take long as Seokjin's face peeked behind it. He was a common sight in the office as he worked as one of his dad's advisors. Jungkook greeted the tall man and told him he had something to discuss with the king. The other alpha opened the door more and let the crown prince enter the room.

"Oh, good afternoon my son! Did you enjoy the ball? I didn't see you around there that much", the king smiled warmly and was clearly happy to see Jungkook by his office. It wasn't usual for his son to reach out to him by himself. The responsible of keeping them in touch was almost all on the king's shoulders so he really was happy to see Jungkook coming to him.

"That's why I'm here", Jungkook said as he smiled slightly at his dad's bright mood. "I have something to discuss about it"

The king signed his advisor to leave them alone for a moment and with that, there soon were just the two of them. Nervous Jungkook and excited father.

"Tell me, my dear, what do you wanna talk about?" The king asked and slightly leaned on his arm resting on the table. He studied the young male's face for a bit and was able to tell that Jungkook was a bit nervous. That made him even more interested (because let's not forget that he had high hopes for some specific news coming from his son) But did he have his expectations too high?

"That omega you introduced me with..." Jungkook started with a voice different from his usual. The alpha felt a big conflict inside of him trying to make him swallow his words right back into his throat. But there was no way back now, at least not one he would be able to take in this situation. It was almost halfway done anyways.
