Chapter 8 Earth Shattering Might

The drive towards the mountain was a silent one.

"The impala would have made the drive cooler." Piped up Perseus.

"Will you ever shut up about that car." Sighed Thalia pinching the bridge of her nose.

"No, it is now like a lost love I will never have the chance of seeing again. A memory I will adore until the end of times." Dramatically shot back the swordsman.

"You are a child." Fondly sighed Zoe with some relief.

"Hey don't laugh at the guy, I've never been the same after losing my Harley." Jumped in Phoebe.

"You had that bike for a week and rammed it in the face of a cyclope." Blankly replied the lieutenant.

"It was our last and most glorious jump." Dreamily sighed the huntress.

"Badass." Complimented Perseus sharing a fist bump with her.

He tapped his elbow in Thaila's arm. "What's wrong princess brooding?"

"Just thinking to a line of the prophecy. Dying to a parent's hand, do you think my dad is capable of that?"

"Oh he definitely is." Perseus replied without missing a beat, but if he were to kill you. Why keep you half alive as a tree? Makes no sense and while this moron can't see past his own lust he's not that stupid."

Thalia smiled a little before she stiffened.

"Get out of the car!"

Without asking questions they all lept out of the vehicle right before a massive bolt of lightning exploded the car in a ball of fire.

"I stand corrected." Grumbled Perseus as the flaming carcass of the car fell back down.

"Anyone seen my sword?" Wondered Perseus as he searched for the weapon he had safely strapped to the vehicle.

Thalia ignored him looking up at the sky with sad and tired eyes.

Zoe stepped next to her and layed a hand on her shoulder.

"Worry not child. Perseus is correct, Zeus has no reason to try and take you're life. Kronos is an ancient and mysterious force even for me. We can only fathom the amount of tricks up his sleeve."

Thalia softly shrugged off her hand and kept walking "come on, there's no time to waste."

"You're not going to look for you're blade?" Asked Phoebe as they treck up the mountain.

"I've got other weapons, beside dragon slayer has a tendency to end back where I need it most."

"Reminds me of something." Chuckled Zoe giving him a pointed glance.

He looked away stubbornly unwilling to use his father's gift.

"What's that smell?" Sniffed Perseus after a while.

"Eucalyptus." Answered Zoe "Ladon's favorite meal, we are close."

"So we have no plan, no reinforcements against one of the mightiest titan there is." Thalia stated with a sigh.

"Yep, just how I like it." Smirked Perseus.

"We are going to die." She added as an afterthought.

"Speak for yourself, no you know what don't speak for anyone negative Nancy, you're almost as stubborn as me. Meaning death is our bitch."

Before Thalia could reply a new voice cut in.

"The daughter of Zeus speaks wisely, you are indeed doomed."
