THE NEXT MORNING MAZIE HAD A hard time getting out of bed which made her thirty-five minutes late to school. Once she arrived at her school, she felt a couple of eyes on her as she walked the halls, but she didn't mind. Instead, she walked over to Finney, seeing as he was standing by his locker.

"Finnland Blake." Mazie deadpanned.

"Mazie Blake," Finny responded.

"Why didn't you wake me up?" She questioned.

"Well, I didn't feel like getting yelled at or hit in the face with a pillow." He answered. "Also, my name is not Finnland." He said.

"Don't care. And next time, wake me up or I'll throw my textbook at you instead!" Mazie threatened as Finney looked at her with a horrified expression.

Mazie looked over her brother's shoulder and saw Vance standing in the hallway alone.

"Well my dear brother, this has been a lovely chat but I must get going. See ya in class." She said in a posh-like accent and patted Finney's shoulder then walked over to Vance.

"Hey, Vance," Mazie said casually.

Vance just raised a brow and eyed the girl up and down.

"Why was your brother looking at you like you just murdered someone?" Vance questioned.

"He didn't wake me up this morning so I was like 35 minutes late and missed home room. So, I threatened to hit him with my textbook if he didn't wake me up next time." Mazie explained.

He just looked at her then laughed.

"Rude." She muttered. "So, what class do you have?" She asks.

"English. Why?" He answers her question and then asks her his own.

"Just because. Also, I have English too." She grinned.

"Good for you?" He said, looking at her with an eyebrow raised.

"Vance take a hint. I'm trying to start a conversation." Mazie rolled her eyes.

"This is a conversation, is it not?" He asks.

"Shut up. Anyways we're gonna be late to class so c'mon." She says, grabbing his arm.

"You mean you're gonna be late. I'm not going." He retorts, pulling his arm back.

"Uh, yeah you are. Willing or unwilling, you're going because I am not about to be stuck third wheeling Donna and Finney again knowing that I have you. So c'mon." She grabs his arm and starts dragging him to the classroom, earning a few judging stares as he curses under his breath.
