I laid in bed, staring up at the ceiling as the hours passed. Boromir was sound asleep at my side, I envied him. How could he find it so easy to sleep? My mind was going a million miles a minute. Friday was two days away...why was I so anxious? "It's not a date," I mentally told myself. "Stop freaking out already."

My phone buzzed on my bedside table and I checked the notification.

𝙱𝚁𝙸𝙰𝙽: 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚍𝚒𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚍𝚘 𝚝𝚘 𝙷𝚎𝚛𝚛𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚗?

I instantly smiled and typed a reply.

𝙼𝙴: 𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝?

I could only imagine the conversation Cindy had with Herrmann when we dropped her off last night. I should've had K'eon take a picture of our kiss so I could threaten him with it. My phone buzzed once more.

𝙱𝚁𝙸𝙰𝙽: 𝙸'𝚖 𝚊𝚝 𝙼𝚘𝚕𝚕𝚢'𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙷𝚎𝚛𝚛𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚗 𝚒𝚜 𝚏𝚞𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚘𝚗'𝚝 𝚜𝚊𝚢 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝'𝚜 𝚠𝚛𝚘𝚗𝚐 𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚗 𝚑𝚎'𝚜 𝚐𝚘𝚗𝚗𝚊 𝚔𝚒𝚕𝚕 𝚢𝚘𝚞

I laughed a little louder than I should've, but I couldn't help it. I was imagining Herrmann slamming around shot glasses, muttering under his breath, his entire head beet red.

𝙼𝙴: 𝙸 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚗𝚘 𝚒𝚍𝚎𝚊 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞'𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚊𝚕𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚝 😏

𝙼𝙴: 𝙸𝚜𝚗'𝚝 𝚒𝚝 𝚊 𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚝𝚕𝚎 𝚕𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚋𝚎 𝚊𝚝 𝙼𝚘𝚕𝚕𝚢'𝚜? 𝚆𝚎'𝚟𝚎 𝚐𝚘𝚝 𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚔 𝚝𝚘𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚠

My eyes instantly widened when the next text came through.

𝙱𝚁𝙸𝙰𝙽: 𝙸𝚝 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚎𝚒𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚘𝚛 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚎

I could feel the heat instantly in my cheeks. I shook my head and read the text again, but there was no mistake. He had actually sent that. Multiple texts began flooding through the chat.

𝙱𝚁𝙸𝙰𝙽: 𝚂𝚑𝚒𝚏 𝙸 𝚍𝚒𝚍𝚗'𝚝 𝚖𝚎𝚊𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝

𝙱𝚁𝙸𝙰𝙽: 𝚂𝚑𝚒𝚏

𝙱𝚁𝙸𝙰𝙽: 𝚂𝚑𝚒𝚏

𝙱𝚁𝙸𝙰𝙽: 𝚂𝚑𝚒𝚏!

𝙼𝙴: 𝙰𝚛𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚊 𝚜𝚝𝚛𝚘𝚔𝚎? 😂

𝙱𝚁𝙸𝙰𝙽: 𝙽𝚘 𝙸'𝚖 𝚓𝚞𝚜𝚝 𝚊𝚗 𝚒𝚍𝚒𝚘𝚝

𝙱𝚁𝙸𝙰𝙽: 𝙰𝚝 𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚝 𝚘𝚗𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚞𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚗𝚔𝚜 𝙸'𝚖 𝚌𝚘𝚘𝚕 😎

𝙱𝚁𝙸𝙰𝙽: 𝚃𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚕𝚊𝚖𝚎 🤦‍♂️

I shook my head in amusement. Normally, self depreciation was a turn off, but in this situation, it was hilarious. Wait, turn off? Why was I thinking like this?
