"Oh wow, this school is huge" I say.
"It is, the surrounding area is so nice as well" Aunt Mito says as she parks.
We'd gotten out and walked to the building listed on the flyer. As soon as we got inside I looked around to find somewhere to sit, but as I was I noticed a boy with white hair.
There's no way
"Let's just find somewhere in the back" I whisper to my aunt.
"Oh okay" she replied as we made our way to some empty seats in the back.
I sighed as we sat down. "Good evening everyone, welcome to Queensport State University, we've invited some of the most talented athletes in this county and some of you may even have an athletic scholarship offer from us! We want to open up your career in track and field to the world" the lady says as she played through the slide show.
"Queensport offered you didn't they?" Aunt Mito whispered.
"Yeah I'm pretty sure they did, sometime last year or something" I whisper back.
"And that is why we'll be giving an exclusive, more insightful tour of QSU! Parents and Guardians, may I have you stay in here, while our students stand up and walk over to our assistant coach Sai who will be near the coffee station in the back" she says.
I turned around and saw him right behind me. Everyone began getting up and I was at the front of this line we created.
I felt someone tap my shoulder. "Hey sorry, you're Gon Freecs right?" a boy says.
"Hi, yes I am" I say.
"I'm Toni, I'm a junior. I've heard about you, your sprints are amazing" he says.
I smiled. "Thank you so much. I appreciate the recognition" I say before getting cut off by Sai.
"Hey future QSU athletes! Welcome to the tour. First on our agenda will be breakout groups. I want all of us to be comfortable and at least know some your class, and possible competitors. So can we have everyone split up by grade. Freshman please stand by the post, Sophomore's by me, Juniors by that bush, and Seniors stay right here" Sai says.
"Gon?" I heard someone say.
I turned to see Killua, as I suspected. "So you got invited too"
"I mean yeah I'm here aren't I" Killua says.
"Tried to pretend you weren't.." I say as I turned away from him.
"Everyone in their groups?" Sai asks. "Perfect. I want to begin with everyone talking about what inspired you to run in the first place, introduce yourself as well" Sai says.
Everyone in our group went around in the circle until it got to me. "Okay um I'm Gon Freecs I attend Monarch, running was a way for me to get out my emotions. It was freeing for me, it still is" I say.
".." I turned to Killua who was staring at me.
"My bad. I'm Killua Zoldyck, I attend Da Vinc-"
"Wait Zoldyck as in Illumi Zoldyck?!" some girl says.
"Oh my god your brother is a legend!" another one adds.
That must be annoying for him.
Killua looked at the girls. "Sure. Back to what I was saying. I attend Da Vinci Academy and what inspired me was the high I got from competing. I've also tried many sports and track has always made me happiest" he finished.
"Looks like everyone is done, let's head to the track everyone" Sai says as he began walking.
It was a long and sort of awkward 10 minute walk to the track, Coach's love these ice breaker questions but it really just makes things uncomfortable. Because now we all know about each other, we just don't want to speak to each other.
