Sometimes it's better not to speak. Not a word, because such terms will not decipher. Rather, it'll paint into a remarkable creation, but sometimes it'll take a presentation of a monster.

Ones people tend to fear.

Or really,

destroy.

"Tsuyuka-san!"

An angelic and cheery chirp drives the boy to veer around his gaze from the window.

The younger sister of his dances her statuette to him happily and raises a drawn picture in her possession. A small perk of his lips lifts as she snickers in triumph about the awkward yet colorful doodle of two stick figures on her paper.

Kanji letters are improperly but illegibly written beside the character figures, causing Tsuyuka to grin.

"Is that me right there?" He points at the big stick figure.

"Yeah. And that's me."

Besides the large stick person, was a little girl drawn as well. However, two alone members of the family couldn't go past his sharp eyes, but she gets to it sooner than he does.

"I didn't include Papa," she points out clearly, orbs tracing innocently and with a glint. "I thought... it'd be better just you and me."

Utter silence succumbs him in puncture of his solemn thoughts, leaving his sister, too, in memory.

It takes Tsuyuka a few moments before grinning widely again. "It's awesome!" He takes hold of the picture and rises forward. He measures it against the wall before turning to her. "Let's hang this up, and call this our treasure."

"Treasure?"

He nods. "It's a symbolism of our bond." And with that, he attaches his eyes to the window once again like he's gone into a hypnosis condition, only this time, his smile fades.

"What's wrong, Tsuyu?" His sister asks and attempts to follow his gaze. "What are you looking for?"

Tsuyuka concentrates out the window, his reality dissolving at some certain point, disassociating.

"I'm gonna protect you," he speaks.

Before she could find the words, he strangely returns his gaze, a small beam across his face.

"I promise." He whispers, "I'll protect you no matter what, Ruri."

Her eyes enlarge but never stray, Ruri beams, as a child who is too innocent and loving for the world. "I'll protect you too, Tsuyu!"

Tsuyuka erupts into a burst of bubbly laughter and pats her head, his gaze softens with warmth.

"Someday. Someday."
