It has been a little over a month since Ezra has joined the Ghost crew. Everyone in the crew knew that the new and youngest crew member would have secrets that he wouldn't share with them yet and they will wait until he felt comfortable. Well they will regret not getting him to talk, for it will be a huge mistake.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
it was just another normal day on the Ghost. Hera Syndulla was piloting the ship. Kanan Jarrus was meditating in his cabin. Garezeb Orrelios (aka Zeb) was sleeping in his cabin. Sabine Wren was painting in her cabin. Chopper was in the cockpit with Hera. As for the newest member, the young padawan, Ezra Bridger was in a secret room, that not even Hera knew about, he was reading his journal that he hasn't looked at in months but something prompted him to read it again. He remembers when he got the journal as clear as day.
~Flashback~
It was Ezras 7th birthday. The little kid was so excited he barely slept the night before. His parents had his birthday gifts in the living room and all his friends were waiting for him to come out. Finally one excited little boy was running out of his room and sitting down with his friends at the table while his father, Ephraim had the camera in his hands, recording every minute. A minute or two later his mother, Mira came out with his birthday cake and soon everyone is singing the Happy Birthday song. When they were done everyone was staring at him waiting.
"Oh Ezra make a wish and blow out your candles already," his mother said. Ezra closed his eyes for a couple of seconds then opened them and blew out the candles. Everyone clapped and cheered. Mira starts cutting the cake and hands a piece to Ezra first then all the other kids. They soon retreated to the living room to play games and open presents. They played musical chairs, Jedi (Ezra) says, and pin the lightsaber on the Jedi {if you haven't already guessed Ezra was having a Jedi themed party}. Ezra and his friends had fun playing and soon they sat down to open up the gifts. He got a lot of cool stuff like a datapad on the Jedi & their Temple's and an energy slingshot. He thanked all his friends for the gifts and for coming but soon everyone had to leave. As he was helping clean up the mess his parents handed him one last present from them.
"Here ya go the last birthday present for this year," his father said. He undid the ribbon and tore off the wrapping paper and he picked up a book. Nothing really special when you look at it just a plain black book but when he turned it to the side it had in blue lettering, 'Ezra Bridger's Journal'. He opened it up where it had tons of blank pages waiting for him to write in. He shot up and enveloped his parents in a hug.
He thanked them quickly and ran into his room to get ready for bed. He sat on his bed up against the head board and started writing about the day he had. He turned off the light, closed the book, and hugged it right to his chest. He soon fell asleep.
A couple hours later Ezra's parents ran in. His mother scooped him up while his father grabbed anything that he felt his son would need. Soon he had his old backpack with all the gifts his boy had gotten that day, some clothes, a blanket, food, and Ezra's favorite stuffed tooka that he got when he was a baby. While his father was getting the stuff his mother woke him up, "Sweetie wake up." Ezra opened his eyes. "Sweetie something is going to happen and no matter what, I want you to stay hidden, do you understand?" She asked her son.
"Mommy what's going on?" Ezra asked obviously scared. His mother looked at him in his eyes and hugged him tight.
"It's going to be okay you're so strong and brave you'll be okay, but someone is going to take us away and we have to go with them. Now I want you to promise me that you will stay with Uncle Zeebo okay he will protect you." She said to her son who now had tears in his eyes. She hugged him again.
He whispered to her, "I promise mommy but please come back soon." She looked down at her baby.
"Don't worry we will be with you always and keep in mind that we will see each other again," she said with a sad smile on her face.
Ezras father rushed into the room, "Mira we need to go now. Zeebo said he would meet Ezra at the park." His father walked over to his only son and knelt next to him. "Listen to me Ezra I want you to look out for yourself but I also want you to promise me something else. I want you to promise me that you will help anyone in trouble. Promise us that, please?" The boy looked up to his parents with tears in his eyes.
He stifled a cry and answered, "Yes I will just please don't leave for too long." His parents looked over at their son, their only child. They wanted to cry but had to be strong, for Ezra's sake.
"Ezra, do you remember how to get to the park?" asked Mira. He nodded his head. "Well we want you to run there and keep running until you get there wait in the dark until Uncle Zeebo comes and gets you. Okay?" Again her son nodded. Mira and Ephraim hugged Ezra then placed a kiss on his forehead and said together, "We love you Ezra."
"I love you too," Ezra said. The two adults went to the door and watched as Ezra ran all the way down the street. Once he was out of earshot they both broke down and cried into each other.
~End of Flashback~
Ezra still missed them he kept reading his journal. Almost all of the pages was full of dark writings now except one. The one who had the best memories and the worst. The page he written on his birthday.
