Chapter 3
It had been another restless night filled with nightmares. Currently I lay in bed staring at the ceiling as sunlight, signaling the new day, shines through the window. Yesterday had gone by rather slowly. After finishing our talk with Chisaki, grandpa showed us around the place so that we could familiarize ourselves with the new surroundings. Then the rest of the day had been spent moving into the new rooms that had been prepared for us. Eri and I now had our own rooms and they were right next to each other so we could find each other easily if we needed to. A loud knock sounded at my door.
"Hey brat! Get up already! I told you yesterday that we'd have a busy day today!" Chisaki growled. The only downside to my new room was that it was right across the hall from no other than Chisaki himself. I roll my eyes
"Yeah, yeah. I'm getting up, just stop yelling already!" I respond with an annoyed tone. *I'm gonna go nuts if I have to deal with him like this every morning.* As I grumble to myself, I throw the covers off me and take my time with getting ready. When I open the door Chisaki stands there with an annoyed and angry expression on his face.
"'Bout damn time kid. We don't have all day, I expect you to be up and ready to go on time from now on. Got it?"
"Yeah sure." I say tiredly. *Dang not getting any sleep the last couple nights really sucks. Iso tired!*
"Looks like you haven't been sleeping." I shake my head, mostly to chase the sleepiness away.
"I'm fine." I glance at Eri's door as we walk by. "Is my sister not coming with us this morning?"
"No, I need to run different tests and exercises with her. Plus she's still a loose Canon if her quirk goes haywire again she needs to be controlled so she'll be worked with separately."
"But, my quirk can cancel her out. Wouldn't it be safer for me to be by her side?"
"You could prove to be too much of a distraction for her so for now no. You two need to be kept separate." I start to protest but Chisaki only side eyes me with a vicious glare that says 'don't argue' so I drop the subject. Instead I let him lead me to some sort of lab like gym? Part of it was set up with equipment used for monitoring heart rates and vitals, and machines to do tests with. While the other part had a big padded room set up for sparring matches.
"This is where we'll be working with your quirk. But before we start any of the tests I want to see how you use it."
"Like in a fight?" I ask, raising an eyebrow at him.
"Exactly. With that quirk you have potential but it won't do you any good if you don't use it correctly. So you're gonna show me what you know in a 1 on 1 sparring match."
"But there's no one else here…"
"You'll be fighting me." Chisaki says cutting me off. I smirk *I'm fighting him huh? This will be a piece of cake!* Or so I think. I join Chisaki on the sparring mat taking a fighting stance and activating my quirk. *He sure looks confident… did he forget I can deactivate his quirk? There's no way he can win this, I just gotta move fast enough to touch him.* He stands in front of me, staring at me intently.
