"He was just such a dick" Lexi groaned rolling her eyes in annoyance, the original trio were all at a coffee shop and Lexi had taken up the topic that included one of her latest conquests
Lexi was the youngest of the trio, being born in August she recently celebrated her twenty-first birthday, which means she barely made it into their year at school, however luckily she was born two weeks early
She's the only one in the group who doesn't have a job, she use to work at Tesco, however, she was caught giving her discount card to too many people and was fired, in her defence Aurora had used it many times and couldn't really scold her
She had no idea what she wanted to do with her future; she did one of the most typical girl pursuits and went to college to study hair and beauty, that however was three years ago and she's yet to find a job
Relying heavily on her parents, savings and universal credit until she finds a stable job that can fund her nights out, she is by far the loudest of the group, with dirty blonde hair and forest green eyes
"We warned you" Fallon replied rolling her eyes, it was always her reply whenever Lexi ranted about a man who didn't treat her the way she deserved, it was more than likely that she was warned of it in advance
Fallon is the eldest of the group, being a Scorpio born the night of Halloween, she also happens to be the most mature of the group, maybe it's just because of how maternal she's always been
With four younger siblings, as the eldest, she naturally has the responsibility of caring for them, from time to time, and it helped develop a large number of maternal bones, and when finishing high school it was no surprise to anyone that she chose to study health and social
Now she works at the local daycare, a privately funded school for children with parents who work throughout the day, though she complains about how it's flawed and all the kids are too spoilt for her, she'd much rather go into the public school system but the private one pays too well
"Whatever" Lexi waved off "Men suck anyway don't date them" she advised like she was speaking to a group of four-year-olds "But what about you then Rory, anyone in your life"
The question was only directed toward her, for the reason that Fallon was in a four-year relationship with the same boy she met in college, so she was no use to Lexi and her gossip-filled brain
"Actually" the librarian began gaining both her friend's attention, Fallon was intrigued and Lexi just wanted to drink up the gossip "There is someone"
She didn't hesitate weirdly enough, she wasn't ready to tell the world, and she wasn't ready to jump into the details, but her friends deserved to know
"Go on then" Lexi muttered propping her elbows up on the table as she stared at her best friend who blushed under the watchful gazes
"I met them at a football game, we've already been on two dates, we've been to the arcade and gotten ice cream, and then we've had a picnic at the park" the student revealed proudly
Lexi didn't pick up on the fact that Aurora didn't reveal any pronouns, she wasn't ready to admit that she was seeing a girl, but she also wasn't going to pretend she was seeing a boy
Fallon however did, maybe it's the teacher in her, the attentive listener, but she realised that Aurora only used they and them in her sentence, leaving the teacher confused as she furrowed her eyebrows
"Have you kissed?" Lexi asked excitedly her voice going up an octave, she was a sucker for sweet romance "Please tell me you've kissed" Nodding in confirmation, Aurora revealed that she had in fact kissed them "Was he a good kisser?"
The fact that Lexi immediately jumped to the conclusion that it was a guy, without even being told that it was a guy stung slightly, it seems for Lexi to pick up on signals she'd have to outright say it
Clearing her throat Fallon interrupted before Aurora could answer "You going out this Friday Lex" she asked her voice holding fake interest, she didn't care and already knew the answer
"My god I need to send you photos of my outfit that I'm wearing" Lexi giddily started pulling out her phone "Apparently Ashton's meant to be there" This was code for she needed to make him jealous
Ashton, a man with black eyes that matched his soul, and a buzz cut, was the definition of cool in high school and cringe in adulthood, he drove around in stolen cars and made his money through drugs
But Lexi loved him, she always has, since high school, admittedly the pair did look like they share some kind of spark but Ashton didn't stick around too long, now he comes and goes as he pleases often bumping into Lexi at parties as they have a quickie in the bathroom
But still, the girl is holding out for so much more, things that Ashton could never give her
"It still baffles me how you afford it" Aurora shook her head in disbelief, the girl received no real income yet she could happily spend hundreds every Friday in a nightclub
Aurora believes she has some kind of sugar daddy, or only fans
"Well not all of us are in fifty grand depts" Lexi pointed out sarcastically once pulling up her photo album, scrolling through the abundance of photos that she had
"And not all of us are jobless" Aurora rebutted sassily earning a harsh slap to the shoulder from the eldest of the group who knew it was a low blow
"Touché" Lexi smiled, she didn't take it to heart as she turned her phone to face the girls who both leant in to look at the photo booth sharing their words of encouragement at how gorgeous it would look on the blonde "Anyway I need you two to come out with me at some point, you don't have any excuses, I known neither of you have plans on a Saturday"
"I'll see what I can do" she responded, she had a week yet to decide and it had been a while since she'd been out on the town, maybe a little drink wouldn't hurt anyone "No promises though"
"That's what I like to hear" Lexi smiled in accomplishment glancing toward Fallon who rolled her eyes before answering
"Only if Rory goes" She just couldn't fathom why Lexi wanted them to go so much, they both knew that the moment they stepped foot in the club Lexi would be hanging off the first bloke that gave her even an ounce of attention
