I always got stares. When you are an elite it is part of normalcy but the stares were unusual. Blank faces looking, searching for answers in my face. I wonder whether it was how I looked. I had woken up late due to the intake of alcohol the previous night and since my schedule was messed up, I had to cut corners somehow. I walk to my locker and take out every essential. The crowd is becoming larger around the bulletin board, I walk over and read. "two students found dead, one in the woods and the other in bed".
I stare at the news in shock. No information is provided as to who it may be but I have a feeling it is someone from my classroom. I walk away and head to class, my feet heavy and my heart is beating fast. Only Audrey is there, seated, her hair is a tangled mess and her eyes tear stricken, I take a seat waiting for the others to come, Neil comes in next, he looks fine for the most part but shaken, Felix is next, he looks annoyed and angry, Greyson comes last. I am relieved. Greyson is alive but I am worried about Rachel and Eric. They hadn't come yet.
"you fine?" Greyson asks me as he takes his seat. He must have noticed how rough I look coupled with the fact that I am having a very bad headache. I nod my head non the less.
"do you think it's Rachel and Eric?" I ask. Greyson shrugs but I can tell he is nervous too. The principle walks in with 2 police officers and it is then that I know.
"Eric Clint and Rachel March are dead" she states firmly "we understand that they were in your company last night so these officers are here to investigate, please tell them all you know and cooperate". we all exchange looks. Eric is dead. I don't know whether is a good or bad thing. I wished him dead a long time ago and now he is.I just didn't think that was the plan though. Something must have gone wrong along the line. The principle walks out and the officers follow. There is one thing all of us are not going to tell. The truth. It is very incriminating on our paths. It is funny though how Rachel predicted her death and someone made it possible, one of us. Someone seated in the classroom. We are all privy to the murder but how we do not know.
Audrey Simpson
The room Is hot, even though the air conditioner is on full blast. I can feel the sweat trickling down my forehead, my palms becoming sweaty and my clothes sticking to my body. I should not have gone, If I hadn't we would not be in this mess right now.
"name?" one of the officers asks me. He is the taller one, the one that looks like the main man in the investigation.
"Audrey Simpson"I reply in a monotone voice, trying to control my shaking.
The officer raises an eyebrow but does not comment.
"i'm Ricky and this is Liam, he'll be taking notes" I nod.
"age?"
"18"
"how long have you known Rachel?"
"since Elementary School. We're best friends"
"and Eric?"
"high school"
"have you had a all out with any of them recently?"
I shake my head. Ricky gives me a look.
"tell me what happened last night"
I sigh "Eric invited us for a party, just the 7 of us, we ate played and left"
"was there any argument or feud?"
"no"
"when did you leave?"
I try to remember but the memory was not very clear. I doubt any of us checked the time after the trick Eric pulled on us.
"i'm not sure but we left the same time"
