Kaede Can't Communicate

"Akamatsu-chan~ Wanna eat lunch together?" 

Kokichi casually walked over to her table. Kaede immediately started trembling again, not because she is scared, but rather, emotional as no one had asked her that before. Shuichi who is sitting right next to her said nothing and pretended not to hear the conversation, but the Supreme Leader instinctively knew.

"And what about you, Saihara-chan? Eating alone? Don't you know food tastes better when you eat with friends? You're boring me~ Wanna join us?"

Shuichi was secretly happy, but as much as he wanted to, he had to reject the offer. If he's seen eating with the Most High and the Most Gorgeous Kaede Akamatsu, then a body would soon be discovered!

Meanwhile, Kokichi tried to start a conversation with Kaede.

"Akamatsu-chan~ Why do you want friends? What did you think of Saihara-chan? Your goals? Oh, do you want more friends?"

"Well......" Shuichi cut in. "She wants to make a hundred friends."

"Oh, really?" Kokichi grinned, plotting some sort of scheme in his head.

"Um......Kokichi......what are you up to this time?"

"Akamatsu-chan......I'm feeling a bit thirsty, so........" Kokichi said, ignoring Shuichi's question and pulling one of his innocent looks. "Go to Standbakes and buy me a medium nonfat milk pistachio deep mocha dip cream Frappuccino with chocolate sauce! Oh, and with lots of whipped cream too! And if you don't, I won't be your friend anymore!"

Kaede immediately got up from her seat and walked out of the school, leaving Shuichi with a shocked expression.

"Akamatsu-san! You're actually going to believe him? Kokichi, why did you say that in the first place?!" 

"You worry too much, Saihara-chan! The place isn't far......."

"That's not the issue!"

"You see......I did that for her own good. It'll be practice talking to people! I don't want that drink anyway, I kinda lied about being thirsty earlier. Anyways, I think you should go after her. I promised to have lunch with my organisation, so, see ya!" Kokichi left, leaving Shuichi alone in the classroom.

Shuichi's POV

Why does Kokichi always ditch me like this when I need him the most? Going after Akamatsu-san like this, lots of people think I'm stalking her. 

Anyways, she seems to be wandering around the shop. Maybe she's too nervous to go in? Should I intervene?

After a while, she gathered her courage and finally entered the shop.

"Welcome, what can I get you?" An employee asked.

Akamatsu-san just stayed silent like usual. Then, she tried communicating using sign language.

"U-Um, Miss? Here's the menu."

I leaned over to have a good look. Of course, that drink Kokichi ordered isn't on the menu, he had to get her to combine stuff from the menu. How would she handle this?

As Akamatsu-san pointed at the menu, the employee tried to piece together her order. "Got it! I know what she wants! Please wait right here!"

A few minutes later, the employee came back with her so called 'order'. Which is, in fact, wrong.

"Here you are, Miss! Your Noir Fantastique Valencia Orange Bitter Chocolate Brownie with Nutty Flavour Pistachio Sauce on Walnut Chip Chocolate Chip Cookie Chip Soy Milk Creamy Frappuccino with gobs of whip cream and gobs of chips!"

She just stared at the employee, then proceeded to take the drink back.

Third Person POV

Kaede knew the order was wrong, but couldn't say it. She's going to lose a friend, isn't she?

"Welcome back, Akamatsu-chan! So, you're safe after all? Thanks, can't wait to drink.........this- This isn't what I ordered!"

Kaede started to sob. All this hard work just getting a drink for a friend was in vain.

"Uh....um.....I think we made Akamatsu-san cry."

"I- Fine, that thing about not being your friend anymore was another lie!"

"Sorry, I guess? Though the majority of that was Kokichi's fault."

"You say that like you didn't follow her all the way there!"

"I was worried, alright? What if she gets hurt?"

"Oh, so Saihara-chan likes her, doesn't he?"

"N-NO! IT'S NOT LIKE-"

Kaede started to cry even more seeing the two arguing because of her. 

"ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT! WE'RE BOTH SORRY!!!" Shuichi was genuinely apologetic. Meanwhile Kokichi wasn't the type to apologize in front of someone else, but as he was feeling partly guilty inside, he can't help but to say it.

Kaede pouted, giving them a look that said, "Fine, I'll forgive you, but don't try that again!"

"Saihara-chan, you're blushing........could it be......" Kokichi smirked, turned towards Kaede, then to Shuichi.

"K-Kokichi! I-I've said this before! I'm not-"

"I can and will tell the whole class about this!"

"P-Please don't......."

"Fine.....that was a lie anyways. At least this relationship is much better than the time in your Middle School Emo Phase........"

"DON'T BRING THAT UP EITHER!"

A/N: I feel like the chapters are getting shorter and shorter. Anyways, next one is about Mikan! I'll try not to make the next chapter too weird though......she had enough of fanservice.
