A/N: I'm very sorry for going silent without warning again. After finishing my exams for February and getting used to the new semester, my mood about Creepypasta took a hit for the worse. I also recently focused on other projects that allow me to experiment with the potential of other people's works. Do not ask me about them, it's private and I prefer to keep this to myself. Anyways, I bring you a new rendition of the infamous carbon copy of Ticci-Toby, X-Virus. In my humble opinion, X-Virus is probably one of the most cliched and creatively bankrupt creepypasta OCs I had ever seen, and his forced connection to Ticci-Toby was enough to make me lose my shit in the wrong way. Luckily, it is not completely hopeless. I rewrote this a few months ago as two separate stories. But I decided to combine them in the same post as a way of making the story less isolated. The biggest change is the character of Cody/Liam. I made him a genuine threat because of his fascination with viruses, which are easily the most destructive threats on the planet, and I am taking his motivation in a new direction. I hope you enjoy the rewrite, and I'll come back next week.

Note: What you are about to read are the only two conclusive posts recounting different experiences during a catastrophic outbreak within Stoneside City. The first one was written by an unknown publisher describing the event, and the second goes in-depth about the origin and perpetrator of the outbreak.

It was supposed to be just another uneventful day in this city. People would wake up, go to work, or walk around aimlessly.

That is until everything changed...

One cold afternoon, a homeless woman collapsed to her knees at a bus stop and coughed uncontrollably. A few people stopped by and walked up to her to see if she was alright. But that's when everything went to hell.

A man touched her shoulder, and she vomited all over him, causing the others to recoil or walk away in disgust. However, the vomit itself was strange. It wasn't regular barf. It was a glowing green, viscous substance.

The woman was taken to the hospital and she showed severe flu-like symptoms. The man who got puked on showed nothing unusual at first. But about an hour later, he too fell ill. The two were sent to temporary quarantine.

The vomit was carefully examined, but the experts could not explain what it was, what was causing it, or how the woman's stomach could produce it.

The citizens thought that even though it was incredibly unusual, it wasn't anything serious. But they never would've thought that everything was about to go from peculiar to nightmarish.

It is speculated that the people who came into contact with the woman at the bus stop also became infected. Soon enough, they came into contact with other people, causing the problem to quickly spread throughout the city. A few days later, this strange, new disease evolved into something more sinister and repulsive.

Besides the flu-like symptoms, the infected showed signs of extreme pain and had seizures. Soon enough, cyst-like growths appeared on random parts of their skin. Those cysts carried the same glowing green substance found in the woman's vomit, but it was much thicker and almost jellylike, and they became larger as time went on. After a while, the parts affected by the growths were horribly deformed, becoming grossly out of proportion, bloated, and asymmetrical. If the growths were large enough, they would burst, causing small clouds of infectious gas to seep through the cracks.

Besides the terrifying physical changes, the infected showed behavioral changes as well. At first, they showed signs of dementia, but after a while, they became aggressive and animalistic. They tried to attack the doctors and non-infected bystanders, so the medics had no choice but to lock them up, and all attempts at euthanizing them failed.
