Macaque eyed the mech, sighing, "Okay, so how are we..." He turned around as Wukong formed his hair into a familiar snare.
The warrior eyed him warily, "...Something tells me that's not for her." Macaque lamented how he was never faster than Wukong. There was no sugarcoating it, he wasn't nearly as powerful as his king. And so when Macaque tried to escape via shadows, Wukong rushed forward and yanked him out.
The diamond snare was wrapped around him, and Macaque thrashed wildly, "I'll just teleport around! And then--"
Wukong pressed his healing hand against Macaque's lips, silencing him. The shadow user could tell the action stung Wukong's palms, yet the king simply stared at him. Ruby red pupils framed in gold stared into his own dull-yellow irisis, even if one of the eyes was simply disguised.
Wukong said so many words through his eyes it was mesmerizing-- And Macaque became acutely aware of just how red his pupils were. They resembled rubies, yes, but they looked more like two drops of blood. Not the kind you'd see spilled on a battlefield, no, this was red like the blood rushing within every living being.
And they were powerful.
Macaque slumped, glaring up at him, "The least you can do is stay safe, Wukong." Wukong gave him a gentle smile before turning around. The warrior swallowed roughly, that look could only ever mean one thing.
No promises.
--
Wukong ignored the cold biting at his blistered hands, focusing instead on forming them into fists.
The burned reminiscence of his sleeves made him feel uneasy. It was... Unnatural for him to walk toward battle all alone. He's done it before, yes, but... He wasn't supposed to be alone this time around.
But it didn't matter now, did it?
Macaque and the others were away from whatever it is Lady Bone Demon was going to do. They had time, and time, as Wukong had learned, was beyond valuable. And they had time.
Not a lot, but as much as Wukong could provide them.
--
The Lady Bone Demon, to her credit, only looked mildly surprised.
"Sun Wukong, Here to finish off what you've started? You cannot stop destiny, you know." Wukong rolled up his ruined sleeves, glaring at the child. He felt sick to his stomach, he had to fight a child.
"Oh, is this your great plan? To fist fight a child?" Wukong tilted his head slightly, continuing to stare before suddenly ducking down, narrowly avoiding the Not Mayor. The king threw his head back, hitting the man's stupid face. And to his credit, he didn't scream.
LBD sent walls of ice toward him, and Wukong punched through them. He destroyed the freezing barriers and was surprised when he couldn't find her. Wukong looked up and narrowly dodged a blast of freezing magic from above.
The demoness glared down at him, ignoring the cold wind tossing her hair around her host's small face. "You are not going to take my destiny!"
Wukong snarled, launching himself into the air, clawing his way past ice shards. He bit back the numbing pain that came from his still-healing burns, attempting to simply soar through the sky in order to catch up with Lady Bone Demon.
--
Macaque fell through the portal, attempting to make his way closer to Wukong.
The snare didn't loosen, remaining firmly wrapped around his body. The shadow user looked up, catching flashes of violent gold and blue streak across the sky. The monkey cursed under his breath, opting to run toward the mech. "Welcome!"
