WIN'S POV

Well, it was, you know, just like any other day... Well, almost...

I made the biggest mistake of my life by taking this job. Unfortunately, I had no other choice. I took what I could get.

"We're looking for a hostess." They could have been more straightforward and explained exactly what it entails. I didn't think it would involve wearing tights ala Peter Pan. And now I'm trying to squeeze into them, not believing what I'm doing with my life.

I look in the mirror. Well... actually... I look like a first-class elf, and these tights emphasize my butt, which even looks sexy in them. As I mentioned, it was my life situation that forced me into this for the past three years. You wanted a prince from a fairy tale... You got a princess, so now work your ass off, because your princess (along with your mother) want to recieve an engagement ring for Christmas. And that ring equals three days of work with Crazy Santa.

Of course, I could take the money from my mother. She would give me money with a smile for such a noble cause, but I don't like taking anything from her. I prefer to be self-sufficient and earn my own money. I only have one more year of study left, and then I can find a job and start living like a normal person.

My princess of seven sorrows is named Pear. I can compare her to the evil Sleeping Beauty, who would take in seven dwarfs if she could, ready to do her bidding. One for cleaning, another for carrying her shopping bags, the third for sleeping with her at night, the fourth for cooking, the fifth for... and so on...

If it weren't for her innate malice, selfishness, jealousy, possessiveness, meanness... and a bunch of other "great" qualities, I might even tolerate her.

If it weren't for the fact that my mother doesn't accept me for who I am...

If it weren't for the fact, that she found the perfect candidate for a wife for me, aka the perfect daughter-in-law for herself...

If she didn't threaten to kick me out of the house and cut me off from my money if I didn't marry that girl.

If my dad were here... I would even be a happy elf, but as it is... suffer, whether you want to or not...

I'm standing in the shopping center next to Santa Claus, handing him mini packages. A herd of children pushes through, ignoring the line, to get a present from the "Red Guy".

He has a better job than me. He can sit on his ass, and I have to stand on my poor legs for six hours. Although, come to think of it, I don't envy him either. The disease of the 21st century is spreading rapidly among young people. McDonald's and KFC are doing their thing... The kids are a bit overweight, and I'm tiny; they'd break me... Maybe it was better to stay an elf after all.

Among the children, I see my witch. Of course, the bitch couldn't miss such a show. She takes out her latest iPhone and records me, laughing loudly and commenting on my appearance as if I stole clothes from the latest "clown" collection. Don't you see I'm doing this for you, you idiot?!

How much I would give to never see her again in my life. Honestly? I would give everything. I would sell my soul to the devil just to never see her again, but that's too complicated.

Thank you, my dear mother, for ruining my life and destroying me completely.

Luckily, her equally intelligent girlfriends came over and took her away from the makeshift Christmas village towards the shops. At least for now, I have her out of my mind. Although I bet my credit card will suffer from this...

Pear loves my account more than me, and no matter where I hide that credit card, she always sniffs it out and drags me to shopping. In that respect, she is better than a police dog. And then I have to pay off debts for her new "Louboutin shoes." There is no justice in this world...

Six hours in the mall, spent next to a speaker from which "Last Christmas I gave You my heart" came out about 50 times... Noise from excited kids and irritation towards my future wife... Finally, that day ended. I'm tired and just dreaming of my warm bed.

I'm not far from home, but I'm walking through a neighborhood I don't like to visit at night. Suddenly, a dark figure emerges from around the corner. Black ripped jeans, vans, a leather jacket, and a hoodie pulled over his head, also of the same color.

He walks confidently straight towards me, and I just look around where I can somehow sneak to the side in case of danger, as the guy looks like a bad boy. I was so scared that I didn't notice the protruding sidewalk tile. And in this way, Win, the clumsy one, fell and landed on the ground like a frog.

"Hey, are you okay?" - The guy under the dark star approached me, reaching out towards me. For a moment, I didn't know if I wanted to grab it and accept help or if I preferred to smell the concrete... I think he noticed my hesitation, so he took off his hood, revealing his face... I calmed down a bit after this gesture.

"I'm Bright Vachirawit, you don't have to be afraid of me. Sometimes I can be unpredictable, but only in a positive way. Don't exaggerate... I know I don't look like a friendly boy, but I won't harm you. Give me your hand, I'll help you up. You know, it's dangerous to lie here at night, you don't know who will pass by." - He winked at me and smiled. I extended my hand, and he pulled me up. He had such warm and velvety skin, like the color of his voice. We stood upright facing each other.

"You can call me Win." - I replied, sinking into his brown irises. I swear I've never seen more beautiful eyes in my life...

"Hey, do you know what your name means in English? Win means to 'win'. Your girlfriend must be having a good time with you. She can confidently say, that you are her life's victory..." - He laughed with his whole self. Maybe the "boy," not the girl, and not me, but he will be my own victory... I bit my lip at the thought, and the corners of my mouth lifted in a shy smile. Oh, if only you knew what you just said, boy...

"Maybe I can walk you home. This area is really sketchy, and, no offense, but you look like a total wimp." - Great! Pear always tells me that, my mother keeps repeating it too. And if even strangers notice it, there must be some truth to it. I need to get my act together.

The "acquaintance-stranger" wanted to walk me all the way home, but I couldn't let him know where I lived. If my mother saw us through the window, I'd be screwed, and he'd be clueless as well. After my dad died, I was strictly forbidden from bringing any guys home.

We walked in silence, not speaking a word to each other... Two neighborhoods before, I stopped in front of some random house and decided that was it. I said goodbye, thanked him for his help, and the guy walked away in his direction. I continued walking ahead.

My mother greeted me at the doorstep, and right behind her was my "lady." They were saying something to me... I don't know, I didn't feel like listening to their babble. I hurriedly went upstairs to my room, locking the door behind me. I took a quick shower in my personal bathroom, lay down on my bed and I couldn't sleep...

My thoughts revolved around brown irises, and from downstairs, I could hear the noise of my two already pretty drunk women...
