HIIII, so, this took me like three years, and it may not be good (I know), I went through a lot of writing fazes so I will go back and fix some of my older work. I wrote this book because I as an avid Wattpad reader didn't see a lot of AMBW (Asian men and Black Women) or more POC-included books, so I wanted to make this for some of the girlies that wanted to see that.
I used to write a lot of stories, based on the type of books I read but never posted them, because I was scared. But now that I'm older I don't really care. I had writer's block for a while until I made a bet with my cousins to write a story (they gave up on theirs) and I had three genres that I wanted to try out, (can't remember them for the life of me) and to be entirely fair I've never read romance stories or teen fiction stories, mythical books are my thing. But I wanted to try something new, and you might be able to tell I am pretty shitty at it.
The story "My Name is Astrea Fayre" is supposed to be based on me with a little twist. The main character "Astrea Fayre" is an alter ego that I have, I'm a pretty shy and reserved person, I pretty much wish I was Astrea in real life. The mother "Antheia Apate" is loosely based on my mom, I portrayed her as a really "mean" person because at the time of writing this, we had a big fight and then I didn't want to change her character, the father "Adonis Apate" is based on my father (he is not dead) I just wanted him into my story.
The friends that Astrea has, are based on people I consider important enough to be used as a character, "Cat" is supposed to be based on a friend I had back in high school, and she was the nicest and an incredibly bubbly person, she's also the drunk version of me, "Hanuni" is based on me as a person, minus the smoking, "Aalina" is based on these two friends I had my senior year of high school, they were both so shy I found it cute, "Lada" isn't really based off of anyone, she's just a character I made up from the past books I've read as a teenager and some past trauma that I had.
The character "Jalon Kobayashi" is a guy I wished existed, but sadly doesn't, "Keola Tagaloa" is based on a boy I used to have a crush on in the 8th or 9th grade, "Dajuan Brown" is based on my elementary school "boyfriend", "Elijah Robinson" is based on my middle school "boyfriend", and "Akio Suzuki" is based off a guy I had a crush on in high school minus the bad stuff.
In all honestly I hope you like this book because writing this was really hard.
