Prologue

This is a rewrite cause I don't really like the og prologue i had writen before anymore so yeah. Enjoy!

There was a big hole to fill when All Might moved back to Japan. The US had been in a constant state of unease before his arrival, in those 5 years of his time as #1, peace was all the people knew. Villain and Gang violence were at an all historic low, something unheard of in that time. It was bitter sweet, Americans finally knew peace, just for it to be gone in an instant. Had anyone really expected him to stay? His real fight was in Japan, he couldn't even if he wanted to. Though the impact was felt throughout the whole country. There was a spike in gang violence, homicide, quirked robbery, and assault. The people were scared, a nation without their symbol of Hope was not pretty.

Then came in Blue Wonder. She had come out of nowhere really. Nobody knew who she was, where she came from, who she worked for, or anything about her really. What they did know was that she was a damn good Hero, the best actually. In the span of 2 months she had risen up to the spot of number 1 Hero. It was incredible how a young seemingly Latina girl swooped in and became so good. Weather she was so good because of talent or because of how incredible her quirk was nobody knew, but nobody really cared either, what mattered to them was that she was protecting them. In the coming time that she was the number 1 Hero, crime rates dropped to number similar during All Might's tenure.

Not only was she an incredible Hero, she was amazingly charming too. She didn't make too many media related appearances but when she did she caught everybody's attention. Other heroes who had to work along side her on missions or villain attacks reported that she was an incredible leader and with just a couple words she could perfectly command a room, even if she had just met them and learned of their quirks. She just had one of those smiles where you think its all going to be okay. The sun was behind that smile and everyone knew it.

She wasn't a new symbol of Hope, nobody could take that from All Might, she was the symbol of Justice. No matter what happened, seeing her zip around on patrol was enough for people to know that on her watch, everyone would get the Justice they deserve. Multiple big criminal organizations tried to take advantage of the window of uncertainty after All Mights Departure, but she just moved too quick. She was able to take care of many smaller and large gangs, all thanks to her mind and her quirk. Nobody knew exactly what it was but the list of feats seemed endless. She could fly, had super strength, could shoot lasers out of her palms and hands, enhanced senses, insane durability, could manifest objects out of unknown blue energy, etc. It was incredible, but no matter what she did, it was always to do with that blue energy, thats where she got the name, Blue Wonder.

Anyway, for 10 years there was relative peace. Big things have happened of course but everyone knew that they had Blue Wonder to count on. Things were great, they were so great that nobody had noticed the steadily rising crime rates. Nobody had noticed the diminishing public appearances by their Hero or other heroic agencies slowly taking over her territory. Nobody had really noticed until it was too late. She had just vanished. What had happened to their beloved hero? A decade of protection just gone.

At first they sent out search parties, assuming the worst. People on the news and social media pleading for her return followed. All of it hurt, the nation was hurt, but as all hurt things, it healed. It took time but eventually a new number 1 hero rose up, crime fluctuated but never spiked. Things eventually were good, but what happened to Blue Wonder?

To her, nothing was more important thank protecting her people. Protecting and serving her nation had been her #1 priority since she was a girl. At least it was, until the fateful day that she found out she was pregnant. It wasn't a part of her plan at all, but it wasn't an unwelcome surprise by any means. She had tried to continue her hero work, but eventually the pregnancy was too far along. She spoke personally with the president and retired on the spot, requesting to keep everything a secret to the few people who knew, The president, herself, and All Might. She moved to a secluded mountain area in the US and began her new life there. The only priority on her mind now was being the greatest mother she can be to her baby boy, the symbol of Justice for the next generation.

OK HELLO, this ofc is my first piece of trying to write well so gimme any constructive criticism, it helps a lot. The oc whos the main characterr is the cover of the fic in case anyone is wondering, and blue wonder is the one on the cover for the chapter. I'll try to update semi frequently. The fic does take place in a universe where UA is a college cause it makes a bit more sense that way, especially since I don't have to sexualize minors lmao. Welp, enjoy!
