Chapter 9

We all got on the plane and I was sitting between Luke and Mikey. Luke didn't talk to me the whole plane ride. he was on his phone the whole time, texting. Mikey looked over to me. He said

"Hey, are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm good. Why is that?"

"You look sad. Do you wanna talk about it?"

"Not right now. Maybe later. Thanks Mikey."

"No problem."

I give him a kiss on the cheek and turn away. Luke gives me a glare. I had mouthed to him "what"

He just shook his head. I just sat there, sad and just wanted to cry. I got up and went to the bathroom. I didn't want anybody to see me cry. I heard a knock on the door.

"Just a minute."

"Annemarie, it's me, mikey."

"I'll be out in a minute."

"Can I come in?"

"Sure."

Annemarie opens the bathroom door to see Mikey standing there.

"Are you gonna tell me what's wrong now? You're crying for god sakes."

"Close the door."

"Ok."

Mikey closes the door.

"Ok so today, I was packing and a phone went off. I thought it was mine, but it wasn't, it was Luke's. Mikey, he's cheating on me with my enemy."

"Aww, baby girl. Shhh, it's ok."

"I just don't know why he's doing it. Am I not good enough? Am I not pretty enough?"

"Babe, you are so fucking gorgeous, you don't even know. Luke is an asshole and he doesn't know what he's missing out on."

"Thank you Mikey. I really appreciate it."

"No need to thank me. You deserve to be treated like a princess. No, a queen."

I start to giggle and smile.

"You know, Annemarie, you have a beautiful smile and a gorgeous laugh."

"Aww Mikey."

"It's true."

"Ok we should probably go out so the guys don't think anything is going on."

"Wait, can I try something?"

"What?"

Mikey goes up to her and gently cups her jaw and brushes his lips on to hers. Annemarie takes a step back.

"Mikey, I know Luke's cheating on me, but 2 wrongs don't make a right."

"You're right, I'm sorry. we should go out there."

we open the door to an angry Luke.
