Danielle:
If I had to guess what expression was painted over my face right now, I would say confusion probably? Something like that. Yeonjun's words hardly registered in my brain. Clearly I was not enjoying this conversation on football?... that he got me into. I say conversation but really it was just him rambling on. I started to wonder if he noticed my expressions. Actually it would be a good thing if he did. Something has got to get me out of this. My thoughts mixed, I shook them around a bit more until I finally picked one out.
"Um, I just remembered I have to check on my friend. Her curfew is soon. I....guess I'll see you later?"
"Uh, sure" he mumbled before watching me flee the living room and kitchen disappearing into a hallway.
My eyes already scanned the previous areas so now I guess my best bet was to start looking through the bedrooms. I wasn't sure why she would be there but I guess I can be kind of dumb sometimes. As my wrists worked frantically twisting door knobs my head stuck slightly into each room with only one name in mind. I reached the last 2 doors. The first one had a group of girls sitting in a circle doing each other's nails. Probably gossiping, I thought. The second one...lets just say my eyes told my head to go right back the way it came.
Around the corner I found a long sliding door leading to an outdoor pool. There were lights beneath the water that lit up the area. My eyes followed the lights until they landed on a bench placed right at the end. Just like my eyes had led me, my feet followed those lights and I placed myself to the right of my friend.
Haerin:
"No fun tonight huh?"
Her voice broke my staring into absolutely nothing.
"Huh? Oh yeah...Um I guess not...", I miserably stated back. Even I think I should sound a little more enthusiastic sometimes. But parties obviously aren't really my thing. Dani and I always get invited to them though, cause we are somehow always in the same class as the popular kids. But I think the main reason why they invite me is so that I don't feel left out. Everyone only really wants to invite Danielle because who wouldn't? She's pretty, smart, kind, thoughtful, hone-...Um you get the idea. Anyway, I wish they wouldn't invite me. I wish they would know that I really don't care and don't want to be invited. By the time though, Dani always manages to persuade me to come.
"Even though I don't really feel like coming, I feel bad for turning down an invitation." That's what she always says. Who's going to tell her that the host really won't care and that they have many other guests coming. Oh well, she's always just clueless like that I guess. It's kind of cute.
"Well It's nearly 10:30, Curfew soon", She reminded me.
"Yeah I guess we should get going soon", I replied.
"Sleepy?", she asked.
"A little", I admitted.
At that moment something told me to look up at her. My eyes were met with hers. Those warm hazel eyes that always managed to find me. I could feel my heart skip a beat...why?
Her hand reached for my face and drew it in closer. Would she notice the heat of my cheek against her fingers? I could feel my eyes close and my cheek felt the touch of her shoulder, where she had placed it.
I really thought that she was going to kiss me. But then...why did I just stay there...like I wouldn't mind it.
Danielle, what is this feeling you gave to me?
