Monday, October 31

Bingo playfully bounded out the door followed by Banjo and Lila.

"Alright kids, which way first, left or right?" Chilli asked the three of them. "Let's go right, all the best candy comes from the right!" Bingo cheered.

Bingo was dressed up as a ghost, Lila was a witch, Banjo was a superhero and Chilli was police officer.

The group headed for Judo's home. There was a large bowl of candy sitting on the front porch. The note beside it read 'please take one' in bold letters. The three kids each took one except for Banjo who cheekily took two. They headed for the other houses in the neighborhood until they reached the end of their street.  "Wow, we already have so much!" Lila exclaimed. They passed a giant black cat inflatable and kept going on their way to other houses and were walking up to a house when Lila gasped. There was a huge crowd of zombies lining the yard of a house. She ran up behind Bingo. "I don't think I want to go to this house." She said shakily. "It's okay Lila, they're not for real life. They're just pretend." Bingo reassured her friend. "But, but, they look real." Lila shook. Bingo grabbed Lila's hand and pulled her along the sidewalk. Lila flinched at every sudden sound and movement but Bingo gripped tightly so that she couldn't chicken out.

Banjo rang the doorbell. "Trick or treat!" The two happily cheered as the man opened the door. The dog at the door handed them each a can of soda. The trio thanked him and left. "Woah!" Banjo exclaimed as they walked back to Chilli. "See it was worth it right, Lila!" Bingo's tail wagged. "Yeah I guess." Lila smiled as she gazed down upon the shiny, bright pink can.

The group went around about 70 more houses until they were back where they started. "Alright kids, hand over your treat bags for inspection." Officer Chilli patroled. The three handed in their bags and walked away. A few minutes later Chilli returned with the bags and walked up to Bandit, Bluey and Mackenzie. Chilli and Bandit traded off their jobs of handing out candy and taking kids trick or treating a few minutes later while Bingo and her friends went upstairs with their candy.

They all removed their costumes and sat down in Bingo and Bluey's bedroom. "Alright let's see what everybody got!" Banjo announced as he dumped his treats on the floor. The process of trading and sorting had begun and continued for quite awhile until they had all finished.

"Do you guys want to watch a scary movie?!" Banjo suggested boldly. "Well maybe not a scary movie." Lila added. Banjo grunted as he ate a full sized chocolate bar. "You shouldn't be eating that much candy, you're going to be sick." Bingo acknowledged as Banjo wolfed down the last column of the chocolate bar. "Oh well, enjoy yourselves and indulge, it's not like we'll have all night!" Banjo ridiculed as he started shoving a few small candy bars in his mouth. Bingo and Lila each took a piece from their stash's and sucked on the treats for a few minutes. They talked until Bluey and Mackenzie came home and it was time for the kids to come downstairs and play some games with Bandit and Chilli so Bluey and Mackenzie could trade their snacks. First they played a bunch of board games and a lot of hide and seek in the dark with a flashlight. The fun continued all night long until it was time to go to sleep. "But we're not tired yet." Banjo complained as he settled into his sleeping bag. "It's time for bed kids it's ten o'clock!" Bandit shouted playfully. Banjo grunted as the two girls were nearly asleep. A few moments later Banjo started to finally get tired and fell asleep peacefully dreaming of candy bars and ghost stories.

Bluey and Mackenzie were walking out the door with Bandit to go trick or treating.

Their injuries had healed quickly over the weeks and they were good to go trick or treating.

"So, which way do you want to go first kids?" Bandit asked cheerfully looking at the left and the right sides of the sidewalk. "Can we go left first Mr. Heeler?" Mackenzie stated. Bandit started to walk away from the kids leaving them at the front of the driveway. "Hey wait for us!" Bluey yelled as she ran up to him.

Bluey was dressed as a vampire, Mackenzie was a cowboy and Bandit was probably a drummer in a band.

They made there rounds taking longer and more routes than Bingo and her friends. After about 110 more houses they finally arrived back home for treat bag inspection by officer Chilli. Mackenzie and Bluey were given their bags and then they rushed upstairs paying no attention to Bingo and her friends as they walked downstairs.

They both took off their costumes and Bluey removed the hair-chalk that her sister had put on earlier.

They each organized their treats and then started to trade. A few minutes of trading later Mackenzie suggested that they watch a movie. Bluey didn't refuse the offer and they walked into Chilli and Bandit's bedroom and get comfortable with their desired treats and popcorn that Chilli made for them. Bluey turned on the TV and opened Netflicks so they could choose a movie. "I heard Howl is supposed to be good." Mackenzie suggested. "Okay we'll watch that then." Bluey stated as she turned on the movie.

Instantly Bluey was a bit scared as she chomped down on her chocolate bar. Mackenzie and her watched the movie together until the murdering started and Bluey huddled in close to Mackenzie burying her face into his chest fluff. He petted her back and kissed her on top of the head and said "it's just a movie, it's not real, there's no need to be scared of it.". The movie then thundered and Bluey nearly squeezed Mackenzie to death. "It's okay, it's okay Bluey. You're safe, nothing will hurt you as long as I'm around." Mackenzie comforted.

Chilli and Bandit then peered around the corner of the doorway when they heard their daughter whimpering. Bandit stared in shock as the scene progressed while Chilli smiled. Chilli took a few pictures on her phone as Mackenzie turned the movie off.

He wrapped his other arm around Bluey and continued to comfort her as she looked away from the screen. "Bluey it's fine, nothing will hurt you. It's all just pretend." Mackenzie said in a soothing tone.

Chilli and Bandit continued to watch as Mackenzie did his best to keep Bluey calm.

"Look, Blu it's just a movie. It's not based on a real story, there's no need to be scared. I will protect you if something did happen okay." Mackenzie continued in a soft voice. Bluey nodded her head. She still had Mackenzie in a painfully tight hug with her face in his chest. "Maybe we should get some sleep, it's late and we have school in the morning." Mackenzie suggested as he completely turned off the TV. He pulled back the covers and Bluey climbed underneath. He tucked Bluey in and then walked back to his side of the bed. "Night Blu, see you in the morning, love you." He said quietly as he turned out the light. Bluey snuggled up close to Mackenzie and he wrapped his arm around her. Mackenzie stared at Bluey and then kissed her sweetly on the nose. "Love you too." Bluey whispered back. He then smiled and fell asleep with Bluey snuggled up close for the rest of the night.
