chapter five

~ Ellie point of view ~

I turned over to Dina, My face now two inches away from hers. I could feel her warm breath hitting my face, I smiled knowing she was now mine. I tucked some of her hair behind her left ear, she began to squirm a little, I decided to get up and search around the place for an extra supplies. I rolled up my blanket, leaving it on a nearby table and throwing up my jacket. I picked up my gun placing it into my holster, grabbing my pack and walking towards the exit of the room.

"where ya going?" I turned around totally forgetting about the random girl Dina and I had found. I glanced over at the girl leaned against the wall, her head laid back. She was sarcastic, that is the best way I could describe her. She was cunty in a way, she had some dried blood on her face. Older mascara along her eyelashes, melted down her face leaving a dark eye bag look. I stared at her blankly until she asked "hello?" I realized I was too deep into my staring and hadn't even replied. "Downstairs" I said before staring at her once again. Her upper arm had a tattoo, it was a spider web looking type of tat.

Her forearm had some writing and a baby angel. Pretty aesthetically pleasing I thought as I decided to ask what she had been doing up so early.

"couldn't sleep" she replied dryly.

"is that your girlfriend?" Lexie asked me adding to her previous reply.

"I guess you could say that" I replied turning around to leave the room.

I walked downstairs looking around, I found some ammo for my pistol and some random bags of old chips and such. I put them into my pack, heading back down the hall and up the stairs. I walked in to find Dina and the girl chatting away. I didn't bother asking what the conversation was about, nor did I really want to know. I handed Dina the bag of chips, she smiled back thanking me.

"Dina we should probably head back to town and get Lexie there then continue" I suggested.

"Babe I was thinking" Dina added.

"What if we just continue? I checked out her wounds and they're pretty minor. I think we should keep going and just bring her with us, the more help Ellie." I shook my head, she knew how I felt about strangers, let alone ones covered in dried blood and wounds.

"Okay fine but if she pulls anything-"

"I know, you'll kill me." Lexie said before I could finish my sentence.

I rolled my eyes holding my hand out for Dina helping her up. We all headed downstairs towards the main entrance of the building, I opened the door heading out first, I looked around searching for where I tied Shimmer up. I walked around the corner, a putrid smell immediately hitting my nose, causing a huge wave of nausea to come over me. around the corner, I saw shimmer decaying body being eaten by two runners. My stomach dropped and I felt even more nauseous, if possible. Dina came from around the corner, pulling out her knife, stabbing one in the neck and I taking the other. Lexie stood there watching in disgust and horror.

I quickly exchange glances with Lexie, she didn't bother budding in. She knew the horse meant something to me. I felt so stupid, how did I not hear Shimmer's screeches for help? I felt a hand on my shoulder, I turned around to see Dina. 

"It's okay Ellie, it isn't your fault. c'mon we gotta get going." she said as I nodded, we started making our way towards the end of the street. I pulled out my map of Seattle,I stared at it trying to figure out where to go next.

"Serevena Hotel, that sounds promising"  Dina looked at me giving a smile. I agreed, We started heading towards the immense building with the large words up top. I hopped onto a garbage bin, launching myself over the gate and onto the ground, I immediately crouched making sure none of the infected saw me. I spotted two or three runners and two clickers. I glanced into the building, from what I could manage I saw two infected feasting on a dead man. I cringed at the thought. I stood up making my way slowly into the building, I ran behind the front desk crouching while grabbed some cloths and alcohol I found. I shoved one of the cloths into the bottle of alcohol, pulling out my lighter, I lit the top of the cloth aflame and tossed it over to the feasting infected. They blew up into flames, their screams while they decayed burned into my mind. I chuckled, grabbing a brick off the ground, I threw it so the clicker would go towards that since it was now facing me since the loud crash of the Molotov. I ran behind slicing its throat open, the crimson liquid spraying onto my hand and the floor below me. "That all?" Dina said as she came out from behind the desk, a stranded runner can sprinting from down the stairs running towards Dina. Lexie quickly pulled out her knife grabbing it by the neck pulling it towards her, she shoved her knife into its rubbery neck, the metal sliding across it. Blood sprayed out, onto her hand. "Thank you" Dina said, I rolled my eyes carrying onto the next room.
