Chapter Three: The Party

~Eyeless Jack~

Ugh, why do I feel like this? I just snapped as soon as I saw them. Lily clearly likes Liam. So, why is it that I feel like this? I don't know, I think I'm just maybe jealous of him. I don't know. Whatever, we can't love each other. That's the boss's main rule to not break. I'll protect her. I won't be able to love her but maybe I could look after her. Besides she doesn't even know that I like her. Or the fact we planned this. I could use that advantage.

I noticed the music started playing. Oh crap, her friends are going to be here. I forgot about them... Hmm, maybe I could put on a different mask... Just as I was about to leave the party I turned to find Lily staring in my direction again. Weird, why is she staring at me? Oh well, I better put on a cosplay mask for safety. I left the backyard in confusion, going inside the house. Poor Lily, Liam doesn't know.

~Lily's POV~

Huh, where's Eyeless Jack going? I thought. Then just as I was turning my head back to find someone I knew, I suddenly got hugged by my friend Alicia with Angel shortly behind her. One thing was clear though they were both wearing masks. Oh shit! I forgot to put my mask on! Quickly looking down at my waist, I noticed a mask hanging from one of the handmade loopholes.

Oh great, he put it there so that way I didn't forget it. I'll have to thank him later. I quickly put on my mask and faced my two friends. "Ooh pretty! Your mask is so pretty Lily!" my friend Alicia said with excitement. "Yeah, it really cool," Angel said with her arms crossed.

Wait? Why are they here though? Isn't it a bit far from town? Wait a minute, there are happy birthday banners all over the backyard! I guess my face must've turned red because the next thing I know, my friend Alicia started to become excited about what she was about to say.

"Uh-huh," she said while nodding her head thinking I figured it out already. "Happy Birthday Lily!" Alicia said with excitement while I turned around to see all my friends behind me ready to sing Happy Birthday. Oh god. I thought as my face turned bright red.

"Happy birthday Lily. I thought we might surprise you since you've never had your birthday celebrated," I heard Liam say from behind me. I turned around to face him as the crowd started to sing. My face was in tears. I started to cover my ears and run inside like a kid with my eyes teary. I was trying to block out the audience when everything stopped.

I waited slightly until I was sure everything was fine. I opened my eyes and uncovered my ears. I wasn't at the party anymore. I was... in my room? Slenderman must've brought me here. Just then I noticed both His and Eyeless Jack's presence. I got up from my crouching position and sat on the bed staring in their direction.

"She really doesn't like celebrating her birthday huh Boss," Eyeless Jack said with his arms crossed. "Hey, how come you don't like celebrating your birthday? You never told me," I heard Liam saying from behind me. Oh shit! I didn't see him. I thought, getting surprised at his sudden speech of words. "I-I didn't know you were throwing a party," I responded.

~Liam's POV~

"Happy birthday Lily. I thought we might surprise you since you've never had your birthday celebrated," said while facing her back. She turned around to face me as the crowd started to sing. Her face was in... tears? She started to cover her ears and crouch down like a kid with her eyes shut. Why was she trying to block out the audience?

Suddenly the world around me starts spinning. Nevertheless, I start running after her. The dizziness gets heavier. I ran after her until I found her in a corner of the house. Suddenly we both faint. I woke up in her room after the dizziness disappeared. We get up and start staring in the Boss's and Eyeless Jack's direction. "She really doesn't like celebrating her birthday huh Boss," Eyeless Jack said with his arms crossed. "Hey, how come you don't like celebrating your birthday? You could've told me," I told Lily.

"I-I didn't know you were throwing a party," she responded. "O-oh um, well surprise I guess," I said. Just then I remembered the warning they gave me before I started planning. 'Be careful, she might not like it.' Eyeless Jack had warned me. Oh, so that's what he meant... I guess I should've listened to him.

"Are you okay at least?" I asked. I had a sense that asking her was my only option. "Yeah, I think so," she says, trying hard to erase the tears before facing me. "So have you told him yet?" Eyeless Jack asked Lily. "I told me what? Lily, what is he talking about? Lily?" I asked her. Looking between them with both curiosity and confusion.

Lily shyly admits, "I'm not a big fan of celebrating my birthday. It just reminds me that I'm getting older." Huh, that's odd. I mean it's normal to feel like that, but for her to say it? It's odd of her to say that. Something doesn't feel right. Why won't she tell me the truth? "That's okay, everyone probably felt like that at one point," was all I could say.

~Eyeless Jack's POV~

Lily shyly admits to Liam, "I'm not a big fan of celebrating my birthday. It just reminds me that I'm getting older." Hmm, that's odd. Why didn't she tell him the truth? Oh well, he'll figure it out eventually. "Hey, we still have the cake; Boss has a mission for us before we can eat it though. We must steal a small device. It's a key to something we stole a while back.

We need to grab the device and get out fast," I say to both Liam and Lily. While Lily and Liam are gone, we'll redirect the crowd's attention to entertainment. "Alright for the mission we'll have Ben help you," I inform them. "Wait, you're not coming in with us?" Lily asked me. "No, I will have to stand guard in case someone comes by you," I replied.

~Lily's POV~

Oh my god, I really hope he doesn't find out I lied to him. He will eventually find out. I just hope it's not anytime soon. "Lily, are you ready?" Liam asked me. "Huh, O-oh yeah. I'm ready. "You will find everything you need in this room," Eyeless Jack said. "All right," I replied ready to face the mission.

"So, who's going to do what?" Liam asked, turning to me as soon as both Slenderman and Eyeless Jack left the room. I sighed. This is going to be a tiring mission. As far as I know, we still have to go back to the party. I wonder how they will distract them from my disappearance.

~5 minutes later after planning~

"Ben, where are you!? We need you!," I asked him over the phone. "I'm online just give me a second to hack into the camera system," Ben replied. "Annnnd done!" he said with a satisfied smile.
