Dreams
Noun; a series of thoughts or images occurring in a person's mind during sleep.
That's the dictionary term for it at least.
Dreams can be such a finicky thing.
One moment, you could have one of the best dreams in your life.
Then, it could become your worst nightmare.
It's only natural, that's just the way things are.
In the past, people have told me that dreams have meaning.
That dreams are a reflection of one's self.
Possibly a vision of the future or a forewarning of something yet to occur.
That's what people usually say.
Then some people are lucky enough to be Lucid dreamers.
Where you can have total control over your dreams and make anything possible.
Something most people wish they could have.
Even if they can only do it once.

*RIIIIIING*
"There goes the final bell of the day." I sigh in relief, thankful for the day to be over. I watch kids rush out of the classroom into the stampede of students, eager to get home and escape this place known as school.
Taking my time to gather my stuff, preferring to wait a few minutes so I don't get shoved around by other students. I wave goodbye to my teacher and walk through the significantly less crowded hallways with only a few students here and there.
I exit the school and walk through the student parking lot next to a chain link fence to avoid getting hit by student drivers. I stepped onto the sidewalk at the end of the lot and continued on home while enjoying the weather.
"It's days like these that make me glad to walk to school instead of riding the bus." I smile as I enjoy the breeze in the air, cooling me off from the sun's heat. That smile soon turns into a grimace as I remember trudging through the snow in the winter months. "Honestly, walking in the winter wouldn't be so bad if someone actually shoveled the sidewalk."
I soon perk up once I notice my home in the distance and speed up my pace, making it there in a few minutes. "I'm home!" I call out once I enter, hearing a "Welcome back!" from my Mom. I took off my shoes before dropping off my backpack in my room.
I head out to the living room where I find Mom looking at her phone while sitting on the couch.
When noticing me, she smiles and gets up to hug me. "Hey n/n, how was your last day of finals?"
I return the hug. "They were ok, I'm just glad they're all over, and now I can enjoy my time with you and Mama before heading off to college." Her smile drops a bit before letting me go. I notice her sad look and immediately try to cheer her up.
She chuckles at my attempt before patting me on the head. "Don't worry [name], it's just that you've grown up so fast. " She reassures and sits down back on the couch. I sit beside her as she continues, "It only feels like yesterday that my wife and I found you as a baby. Then all of a sudden, you are now eighteen years old and about to head to college."
"You really like bringing that up, Mom." I chuckle a little as I remember the multiple times she would tell me that story.
How the story would go is that my parents were celebrating their third anniversary of being married. To finish off the day, they decided to walk to a meadow in the middle of a forest, away from the city, to see the stars. On the way there, they found me sleeping under one of the trees on a blanket of moss. There was no one around, only just a note that said my name and birthday.
