1. Moon boy.

Por sat on a little mountain made out of Moon rocks looking out. You don't see much on the Moon. The world is surrounded by darkness except for the occasional sparkle of light, from stars. He feels a little tap on his shoulder and he looks back. It was Nat. Nat is tall, and fair with big eyes and a smile that would light up even the darkest galaxies. He has recently started working out and his muscles were showing through his space uniform.

Por had always liked Nat. He felt an indescribable feeling for him that is beyond friendship. This feeling feels like little bubbles between his stomach and chest. Like he has drank 50 cans of Moon soda and everything of him is waiting to explode. Por smiled at the sight of Nat. His charming, handsome face.

"A penny for your thoughts?"

"Nothing."

"Worried for tomorrow?"

"A little bit."

"Why?"

"I don't know. I guess I have been here my whole life and to move somewhere else feels strange."

"You'll be fine. Remember it's a mission. Complete it and you can come home."

"But what if I don't."

"You will complete the mission."

"But why me?"

"Because you are the most compatible."

Por face dropped to a little sulk. He tried to hide it but Nat sees through his façade. He puts a hand around Por and gave him a little squeeze. He repeated himself.

"Complete the mission and you can come home."

Por felt Nat's strong arm around his shoulders, his right chest touching his left shoulder. Hard, safe, comforting. Por felt the bubbles within him bubbling more furiously than ever. He looked at Nat and breaks into a smile.

"There I made you smile. My mission is complete."

"Will you be there tomorrow? To send me off?"

Nat gave Por a little pat on the head before standing up.

"I would try. Busy time in the office. But I would try."

And with that, he left as quickly as he came, leaving Por to feel his bubbles. Por lets out a scream into the abyss. After he got tired of screaming, he sat down again and everything seemed the same as it was when he first sat down. Dark, quiet...empty. Por is an orphan and was sent to the Moon at 5 years old as part of a project. Due to Earth's growing population, the government decided to set up a home for orphans on the Moon. This project was top secret, dangerous and destined to fail. No one believed that the orphans would come out of it alive. But they did, shocking everyone even those that started the project. It felt then that as an orphan he was marking his place in this universe showing the world that they matter. Now, the Moon had about 500 people, most of them orphans. They stopped the project shortly after Por's arrival on the moon because it got too dangerous and costly. The human body can acclimatise itself to the moon's atmosphere. Por and everyone else on it can breathe, eat and do all things like a person on Earth can. Knowing this, Por felt like a rebel. He felt like he has gone against the norms of this world further solidifying his mark in this universe. However, all that would change tomorrow. He would be going to Earth on a mission.

The mission is simple. Find a person called Tiwson Sophonpatima, befriend him and find out everything he can about him. When he has found out enough about him, he would be able to leave Earth for the Moon again. Por had no idea why he has to find out anything about this person, and neither does he know how much information would be considered enough. All he knew is that when the time is right, someone would come and get him from Earth. It scared him to not know how long this mission would last, how long he would have to be away from everyone on the Moon, especially Nat.

He whispered under his breath. "But all in its time I suppose."

His eyelids felt heavy and he knows sleep beckoning him. He tried to fight his eyelids open, thinking that it would prolong his inevitable fate of the mission on Earth. But he knew he was being foolish. So, he got up, stretches, and goes to bed.
