"I'm kind of dreading tomorrow, y'know?" Amelia said as she walked out of the bathroom. Pedro looked up from his phone and nodded his head.
"I get that. You love your dad and you're filming the funeral of one of his most well-known characters. I'd be dreading it, too."
September flew by and she was getting ready to film her cameo in Top Gun: Maverick. She had visited the set a few times and started to befriend some of the cast members, but she knew that it was going to be a hard day.
"I can take you if you want. To the set, I mean," Pedro said as they cuddled.
"I don't know if you'd be allowed to do that. Like I don't know how strict they are with bringing guests to set."
"You've been to the set."
"I'm also in the movie for like twenty seconds so I don't think I count as a guest."
"That's fair. Will you call me if you need anything?"
"Yeah. I think I might also get to hear one of the finished songs for the soundtrack but I didn't tell you that."
Pedro chuckled and hugged her tightly before rolling them over and cuddling her. She had to be on set by seven the next morning, so her alarm was set for four. Pedro barely moved when she got up and started getting ready. She was out the door in an hour and a half, and she made it to the set with a few minutes to spare. They were filming on-location and they only had one day to shoot the scene, so it had to be perfect. She was sharing a trailer with Monica, but neither of them seemed to mind.
"Ten minutes to set!" One of the production assistants called.
Amelia put her shoes on and drank some water before getting ready to head out of the trailer with Monica.
"I'm getting Chipotle for lunch if you want anything. My treat."
"Oh, cool. Maybe I'll take you up on that offer."
When they got to the set, Amelia made sure to talk to the producers and a few of the extras before they called places. Everything looked so real. She would've believed that it was a real funeral had she not been filming. Shortly before they called action, Val walked on the set and sat in one of the chairs behind the cameras. It made the scene so much harder to film, because she was trying so hard not to cry on camera. She didn't want to waste the take if she hadn't been told that they wanted her to cry. As soon as they finished filming, she rushed off the set and went straight to the trailer. She took a few minutes to cry and change her clothes before texting Monica her Chipotle order and walking down the row of trailers.
"Hey, Ames, if you don't mind, do you think you could get a picture of me and Val?" Miles asked.
"Oh, of course. We're gonna need to find him first, though."
That only took a few minutes. Of course he had been hanging out with Tom from the moment they wrapped the shoot. Everyone talked for a few minutes before Amelia got Val and Miles together for the picture.
"I'll send it to you later," she told both of them.
"Thanks."
As she walked away, she decided to FaceTime Pedro. He answered on the third ring, but she wasn't really concerned.
"How'd it go?" He asked.
"I think it went pretty well. Monica's on her way back with Chipotle. It's been pretty emotional, though. I can't show you any pictures of the set or anything but if you were here, you'd understand. Honestly, it's kind of a weird experience."
"Yeah, I understand. What time do you think you'll be back?"
Amelia sighed. She was back in the trailer, so she set her phone down on the desk and sat in the chair. She rubbed her eyes and took a deep breath.
