Merci

Chapter 1

"Good night sweet girls" I whispered kissing my nieces on their foreheads as they closed their eyes. I stood up straight staying as quiet as I could because I knew any loud noise would get them up and rowdy again. I loved my nieces with all of my heart but taking care of them by myself was a handful, so when my best girlfriend requested we go out tonight since we both got the day off. Which is normal for me but for Celine not so much. 

"Are they down?" Celine asked when I stepped into my room to see her in front of my vanity fixing her makeup. "Yep any word from Sarah yet?" I asked as I walked over to my king sized bed and picked up our matching outfits, mine was red and hers was blue. 

I watched as she peeked at me through the mirror and nodded her head. "Yeah she texted you a bit ago saying she'll be here in 20, there was a bad wreck when she left home" She told me. I nodded and started to undress, uncaring that she was in here with me. Celine and I have been friends since we were in 3rd grade. We were inseparable, I always made jokes that she was my soulmate and that if neither of us was married by 30 I would ask her to marry me. 

"Awesome, Girl I can't tell you how much I need this break" I said slipping my legs through the pants legs before taking my bra off and slipping the top half on. She snickered "I honestly don't know how you do it Mj but I'm proud of you, what other 25 year old can say they go to school work full time and take care of their five year old nieces" She said I shrugged, never really having an answer for it because to me its not something to be proud of, but if I said that I knew she'd slap the black off of me so I kept my mouth shut. 

I heard a knock at the door, looking up at Celine silently asking her to get the door while I finished getting ready, but she was already on the way out of the door. I shook my head with a smile happy to have someone like Celine in my corner. When I finished putting my outfit on I moved to the vanity and grabbing lipstick and some mascara. I wasn't a big make-up wearer but I did love me some good matte lipstick with some shiny gloss on top. My eyelashes were already long so I didn't really need to apply mascara but I liked the way they looked darker when I applied just the right amount. 

"Sarah's here Merci" Celine said standing at the door watching me. I looked up at her, "Okay I'll be right out, I just need to slip my shoes on" I said looking around my surprisingly junky room. Making a mental note to get it cleaned up this weekend.

"Their under the towel you threw on the floor in the corner" Celine said before leaving the door stand and going back to the living room, probably to catch up with Sarah, my Long time baby sitter since I took over care of Teyana and Adele last year. 

Spotting the towel Celine must have been talking about I lifted it to see my favorite black wedges underneath them. I grinned and grabbed them before moving back to the vanity to grab some hoop earrings slipping them in my ears quickly before double checking myself. Happy with my results I grabbed my phone and small black purse and headed for the living room, shutting my bed room door as quietly as possible as to not wake my nieces. Their bedroom was only one room down from mine and Adele was a super light sleeper. 

Tiptoeing to the living as quickly as I could I smiled brightly when I saw Sarah and Celine chatting it up on the couch. "Hey Sarah! thank you for coming at such a short notice" I said sitting on the edge of my couch as I slipped my shoes on, really happy that I painted my toes the other day. 

"its no problem, I wasn't doing anything tonight anyways, You two look beautiful" She complimented to which I beamed up at her. A girl can never get to many compliments. 

"Oh goodness don't blow her head up, you know how she gets" Celine said doing her best imitation of me before I threw a pillow at her head. We laughed before I stood up off the couch and making sure I had everything.
