Teesha woke up around 8 in the morning, rubbing her eyes she yawned. It was a strange dream she thought. She sat on her bed for a good 10 minutes staring at the wall. No, she is not sad or something. That's her routine, after waking up she need atleast 10 minutes to get in touch with the reality.
Picking up her phone from her side, she turned on internet to find several notifications.
" Shit! Aaj toh college jana tha." (i was supposed to go to college today) she said and got up hastily.
After making her bed, she went to the bathroom to get fresh.
" Teesha, Aaj college jana tha na?" ( you were going college today na?)her mom asked.
"Haan mummy" (yes) she said.
Coming out, she had her breakfast and packing her bag she got ready to go to the college. Because she was already late, her mom dropped her.
" Bye, Aap tension mat lena main khud ajaungi 2 baje tak okay?" (Don't worry about me, I'll be home by 2 pm.) She said to her mother and bid bye.
After 2 hours, she got free with college work and chatting with her friends.
'They are not my friends, we are just classmates.' Teesha thought.
It's summer and she's feeling super tired.
" Kitna trauma dete hai yaar college wale, I thought college is going to be fun. Ghar jakar I'm going to sleep or maybe watch some asmr. God! I need therapy." ( this college thing is literally giving me trauma, I thought college is going to be fun. I'm going to sleep or maybe watch some asmr as soon as I'll reach home) she blabbered to herself as she crossed the road.
A loud horn made her come out of her self talk and seeing a car approaching her at high speed instead of getting out of its way Teesha stood frozen to her place.
Car halted just 2 feet away from her, and she fell on the ground as her legs give up and her whole body started to shake uncontrollably.
People around her started to encircled her and the black car with tinted glass, which was about to kill her.
While some people were helping her, most of them were ready to fight with the driver and beat the shit out of him.
Someone made Teesha sat at the sidewalk which was 10 inches above the road and gave her water to drink.
She took small sip of water, while her hands and legs were still shaking.
People were asking her if she's okay or not and even though she's nodding her head in the answer her trembling body says otherwise.
The person sitting in the backseat of the car was watching her. Bringing out his passbook he signed ₹ 10,000 cheque.
" Stop this drama, give her this and it'll be alright " he said in a neutral tone to the driver, who's in his mid 30s.
Driver nodded and got out of the car and went towards the fragile girl and offered her cheque.
" Yeh-yeh kya hai?" (what- what is this?) She asked.
" 10000 rupees hai. Mere hisaab se itna enough hoga tumhare liye." (it's 10000 RS cheque, I guess it must be enough of you) the driver said and forwarded it towards her.
Not able to think straight, she took it from him. People watched her and no longer seemed angry at the driver. Who would be angry anyway after getting such an amount even though no damage is done?
Seeing her taking the cheque, he smirked.
" Such a gold digger." he said.
Reading the cheque, Teesha realised that he's trying to get away with this by giving money. Even though no harm was actually done and she cannot just go and file an F.I.R. because she unharmed, this is literally her disrespect.
